Nearly two years after Horzien Labs’ Senior Advisor, Airvey, helped launch the ApeCoin DAO, he’s running for a spot on the DAO’s Special Council with the goal of launching ApeChain and establishing it as the premier Web3 gaming coin!
The winter election season of 2023 is underway and five ApeCoin DAO contributors are running to replace BoredApeG, Gerry, and VeraTheApe on the DAO's Special Council in 2024.
Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is Airvey.
“My primary motivation is to restore the value of ApeCoin DAO to its initial release level ($8 per token on day one),” Airvey wrote on his candidate Discourse page. “I believe there are several ways to regain positive momentum, starting with using $APE as gas.”
To find out more about Airvey’s Special Council candidacy, his past experience at Horizen Labs, and his plans for Apechain, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:
1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?
“As a co-author of the Arbitrum proposal, my candidacy centers around facilitating community onboarding to ApeChain and enabling the DAO to generate revenue.”
2. When and why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?
“As an advisor at Horizen Labs, I have been involved since Yuga Labs selected the company as its deep tech partner. From that point onward, I aspired to join the Special Council. However, I recognized the importance of gaining experience within a foundation and DAO first. Consequently, I dedicated the past two years to the ZEN Foundation before transitioning as Horizen DAO Special Council. Having acquired the necessary skills and demonstrated my capabilities, I am now prepared to contribute to the ApeCoin DAO.”
3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?
“Having already been trained and familiar with most actors in this ecosystem, I will require no onboarding time and can be operational from day one. I have also been the designated point person for relationships with Yuga Labs and Animoca at Horizen Labs.”
4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?
“My objective for 2024 is to position ApeChain as the leading gaming chain in the Web3 space.”
5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?
“I would like the DAO to return to its initial level of release, accompanied by the additional utility provided by ApeChain.”
6. What are your thoughts and views on an ApeChain?
“My thoughts on ApeChain are AIP-378, which I co-authored.”
