APPROVED: The ApeCoin DAO Approved Of POAP Voting Rewards Last Night

ApeCoin DAO voters will now receive PAOP rewards after the community approved of this Ape Improvement Proposal last night.

AIP-106 titled “POAP Voting Rewards” was approved on Wednesday with 99.8% community approval.

“It’s really exciting to present a proposal that is widely accepted by the community,” AIP-106 author 0xSword told the Bored Ape Gazette. “That is the main benefit of building proposals as a team effort with other people from within our DAO community.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, AIP-106 directs the Ape Foundation to add POAP (proof of attendance protocol) rewards for voters. This AIP also creates a 30-day contest to select four designs and reward the design creators with 100 $Ape each.

In AIP-106, 0xSword wrote that the purpose of this proposal was to increase DAO voter turnout.

“Rewarding voters with POAPs will create awareness on social media towards active proposals and encourage conversation around taking part in the voting process,” 0xSword wrote.

Following last night’s vote, 0xSword told the Gazette that he is working hard to get ApeCoin DAO voters their rewards as soon as possible.

“We’ll finalize the details for implementation, announce a start date for the design contest, then shortly after, we’ll begin rewarding voters w/ these POAPs rewards, “he said.
