As Apes Prepare For This Weekend's Mint, Some Are Speculating That It Might Not Be Metaverse Land:

Bored Ape Yacht Club members are speculating that something else might be brewing at the swamp this weekend.

The Bored Ape Yacht Club shared a twitter thread last night about an upcoming mint this Saturday. While it is still not confirmed, many in the NFT community believe that the mint will be for land in the Otherside Metaverse.

“The Otherside adventure will begin on 4/30 at 12pm ET, only on https://otherside.xyz, the BAYC tweeted on its new account OthersideMeta last night. “The KYC on http://somethingisbrewing.xyz was to participate in Saturday’s mint — only those who KYCed can participate.”

This Saturday’s mint will be a Dutch Auction and priced exclusively in $Ape coin, according to the club.

In the Twitter thread, the club goes on the explain that Apes and Mutants will be able to claim “an NFT” after the auction ends. “BAYC and MAYC holders, you’ll be able to claim an NFT for 21 days after the auction. You don’t need to be KYC-approved to claim, but you DO need to be KYC-approved to mint in the auction.”

While this weekend’s mint and claim could be land, Apes are noting that land wasn’t mentioned in the thread. Because of this, some BAYC members think this weekend’s mint and claim could be for something else.

“After rereading the Otherside announcement today I realized it doesn’t say land anywhere," BAYC member Willie Bullish tweeted. “What if this is just phase 1 and land is sometime after? “The Otherside Adventure will begin” what if it begins with something no one is expecting?”

The idea of doing the unexpected would line up with the recent mantra of the BAYC founders who have repeatedly posted “fuck doing expected things.”
