BAYC Creators, Yuga Labs, Sign Representation Deal With Well Known Agent Guy Oseary, Per Variety

Updated: Oct 12, 2021

The bored Ape Yacht Club’s parent company, Yuga Labs has signed a Representation deal with a well-known management firm who represents several A-list celebrities like Madonna and U2, according to Variety Magazine.

Yuga Labs signed a deal with the management company Maverick and will be represented by the firm’s founder, Guy Oseary. After signing the deal, Oseary told Variety that he is excited about the clubs potential.

“Many people still have not heard of Yuga, yet they are one of the highest-grossing talents of the year from any artform, including music and film,” Oseary in announcing the deal, which will see opportunities across media platforms, including film, TV, music, gaming and more. “They are originals, empowering their community of NFT holders by giving them IP rights to their purchased ape, and continually creating ways to add benefits and utility to the purchased artwork. The Apes at Yuga Labs and I have a lot of exciting initiatives for the community and we look forward to sharing them soon.”

After the signing with Oseary, the BAYC founders shared their managers optimism about the club going forward as they teased upcoming projects. “We’re excited to work with Guy Oseary to bring the Bored Ape Yacht Club to a broader sphere,” they said. “We have many ambitious projects in the works and we’re thankful to have Guy’s expertise as we move the club into this new chapter, for the benefit of the entire BAYC community.”

While Oseary’s representation deal with the Yuga Labs was just announced, the manager is no stranger to the BAYC.

Oseary purchased Bored Ape #8699 on August 28th for 99 Eth. Bored Ape #8699 is a five trait black fur ape with hip hop clothes and sunglasses. Oseary is currently using Bored Ape #8699 as his Twitter profile photo. Along with Bored Ape #8699, Oseary also owns nine mutant apes, according to this Opensea account.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Oseary and the BAYC and let you know when any new information regarding this deal is announced.
