Christie’s No Time Like The Present auction ends on September 28th and the four Bored Apes in the collection are getting more attention.
At the Time of this articles publication, Bored Ape #8746 current bid is 5,000,000 HKD, which equates to 642,223 USD or roughly 214 Eth.
Bored Ape #8746 is a six trait cheetah fur bored ape sporting a black suit, halo and blue beam eyes. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #8746 is the 143rd rarest ape, according to Rarity Tools.
While a current price of 214 Eth is impressive, many in the Bored Ape Yacht Club community expect that Bored Ape #8746 will sell for much more.
“Still 9 days to go, real bids will come towards the end,” BAYC member OGDFarmer tweeted last week “I have 250 Eth ready for it myself, so for what it’s worth, that’s the floor for this one.”
At Eth’s current price, OGDFarmer’s 250 Eth bid would put Bored Ape #8746 at $750,000 USD. “To be clear: I think there’s a 20% chance I get it at that price at best,” OGDFarmer tweeted. “It’s the equivalent of a WEth capitulation bid This is a >400 eth ape.”
Christie’s auction ends on September 28th at 11 a.m. HKT (11:00 p.m. EST) and if its anything like the Sotheby’s auction, apes can expect to see a flurry of bids at the end. The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Christie’s auction and let you know where the apes eventually sell.
