Legendary Bored Ape Yacht Club member FranklinIsBored, who made a name for himself with his constant NFT flipping updates and daily slideshows of his Bored Ape collection, privately sold his signature gold fur primate to an anonymous buyer this afternoon.
Things were anything but boring around the swamp on Thursday after Frankilin returned to the Web3 world for the first time in months and sold his iconic Bored Ape to Wallet 0x26Ba1d377225217D28864E98083f8a77Cf3bF6B4 for 275 Eth or $667,546 USD to an anonymous buyer.
Franklin’s former Ape, Bored Ape #1726, is a five-trait solid gold fur primate with service clothes, closed eyes, and a bored unshaven mouth. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #1726 is the 230th most bored Bored Ape in the collection, according to Rarity Sniper.
After the sale, Franklin took to Twitter for the first time since August 10th, 2023, and tweeted, 'End of an era,' along with a photo of his former Ape. Franklin also changed his pfp from his primate to a blank screen.
"I had to sell for personal reasons," Franklin told the Gazette. "I had the time of my life with BAYC! And I hope to remain involved with the overall Web3 community, especially if I remain a club member going forward."
Franklin first purchased his gold fur Ape way back on May 1st,2021, just days after the BAYC mint, from Pranksy, for 4 Eth or $11,791 USD.
Following Franklin’s sale today, several BAYC members took to Twitter and congratulated him on the trade and wished him well.
“Congrats on the sale @franklinisbored,” BAYC member Kobrakao tweeted. “You are a legend, and we wish you the best of luck on your next journey! Stay well, brother ape.”
As BAYC members wished Franklin the best on his next endeavor and the legendary BAYC member said goodbye to his former Ape, the community awaits to find out who the mystery buyer of Franklin’s primate was.
At this time we do not know much about Wallet 0x26Ba1d other than the wallet is brand new and received 275.2 Eth from a Binance exchange account earlier today, according to Etherscan data.
