Horizen Labs Hired This Notable Bored Ape Yacht Club Member To Be Its Otherside Strategist

Horizen Labs, the company that created ApeCoin and is building the ApeCoin staking system, hired this notable Bored Ape Yacht Club member to be its Otherside strategist.

Longtime BAYC member Degentraland took to Twitter on Monday and announced his new role at horizon Labs in a five-part Twitter thread.

“In my new role, I will be running Horizen’s large portfolio of @OthersideMeta assets — including its land, Kodas, and partnerships — as well as many of Horizen’s other metaverse and NFT-related ventures,” Degentraland tweeted. “I will build upon my prior experience in IB at Goldman Sachs and Strategy and Biz Dev at Sony Music to create an efficient, inclusive, and engaging digital ecosystem. One that aligns with the visions of @yugalabs, @improbableio, and most importantly the community.”

Following Degentraland’s announcement, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Horizen Labs Co-Founder and ApeCoin DAO Special Council Member Dean Steinbeck for comment on his company's latest hire.

“Degentraland is one of the smartest and most knowledgeable participants in web3," Steinbeck told the Gazette. “Adding him to our team is a home run and we’re excited to put his talent to work! The only negative for crypto twitter is we may lose some of the snarky sarcasm in his tweets that we’ve all grown to love.”
