'IT'S ABOUT DAM TIME': MachiBigBrother's Digital Art Movement Initiative Has Start Buying Bored Apes

Things are anything but boring around the Bored Ape Yacht Club this morning after MachiBigBrother’s Digital Art Movement received the first part of its 11 million $Ape grant from the ApeCoin DAO and began purchasing premier primates!

Late last night, the ApeCoin DAO sent the Digital Art Movement AKA DAM its first 3,000,000 $Ape, and MachiBigBrother and his team quickly got to work purchasing aesthetic Apes.

At the time of this article’s publication, the DAM collection has already purchased 21 primates. Take a look at them beow.

“It’s about DAM time,” Machi told the Gazette after the team’s first round of buys.

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the ApeCoin DAO approved of MachiBigBrother’s Digital Art Movement Ape Improvement Proposal on September 20, 2023.

“Digital art remains underrepresented in the art world, I want to change this,” MachiBigBrother wrote at the time. “I want digital art to be omnipresent. By creating and curating the Digital Art Movement Collection (aka “The DAM Collection”), we can proliferate appreciation for digital art worldwide thus leading to education and adoption. There’s no better group of people than ApeCoin DAO members to cement our place in digital art history."

 

In AIP-304, Machi explained that DAM will not only be collecting Apes but also will be working to display them in museums, schools, and galleries.

“By exhibiting this collection worldwide, we will make NFTs more accessible publicly and drive conversations around the benefits of digital art,” MachiBigBrother wrote in his proposal. “This conversation will naturally lead to benefits of digital art, enabled via permissionless blockchains as well as proof of ownership, authenticity, and provenance. Educating the public about our space is key to mass appreciation.”
