MEET THE CANDIDATE: BoredApeG Is Running For Special Council!

ApeCoin DAO Special Council member BoredApeG wants to keep pushing decentralization, improve efficiencies in the grant process, and pursue collaborative leadership as he looks to make Yugverse history by being the first-ever $Ape to be elected to the DAO’s Council twice!

 

The winter election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 27 contributors officially running to be on the DAO’s Special Council in 2024.

 

Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is current Special Council member BoredApeG.

 

“I am seeking re-election simply because I believe the best use of my time serving the ApeCoin ecosystem still lies in being a steward of ApeCoin from within the APE Foundation,” BoredApeG wrote on his candidate page.From an administrative standpoint, a few top priorities the community has voiced: i. solve for specific roles and action needed in our ecosystem in a compliant manner, ii. evolve pieces in our ecosystem to bring in more core contributors to the table who can create meaningful value to the DAO, iii. facilitate the development of ApeChain(s), iv. increase automation where reasonably possible, vi. support community sustainability initiatives, and vii. get the Special Council back focused on being the Board it was originally intended to be.”

1. In a sentence or two what is your candidacy all about?

 

“Candidly, I have a lot more to accomplish on Special Council that I believe will be to the betterment of the ApeCoin ecosystem. I continue to be the best individual to deliver on the pressing administrative needs of our ApeCoin DAO community. Job's not finished.”

 

 2. When and why did you decide to ape into the Special Council race?

 

“My platform last year was that I would primarily focus on the internal administrative operationalization needs of APE Foundation. I would characterize the first third of our current Special Council term to be heavily preoccupied with the transition of our Cayman Islands administrator team. Therefore, I knew in the back of my mind then that there would be much more to accomplish by the end of my term. Fast forward to now, there's still plenty for me to accomplish around our DAO and I believe my best place continues to be on Special Council for another term.”

 

 3. What makes you the right $Ape for Special Council? How has your past prepared you for this role?

 

“The ApeCoin Community is a DAO, not a dictatorship. To be the most effective SC Member, one needs to be an expert in Collaborative Leadership. Without this skill, it will be difficult to get anything meaningful accomplished. I've shown my commitment, dedication, and proficiency as a Collaborative Leader to get things done around our organization. I elaborate more on my experience starting here:"

 

4. What would you like to accomplish during your term?

 

“I would like to continue the work I have started in operationalizing the internal administration of APE Foundation. Top of mind near-term priorities include improving efficiencies in our processes such as our grant and trademark agreements.”

 

 5. Where would you like to see the DAO a year from now?

 

“The community to have continued our progress towards further decentralization, implemented initiatives around sustainability, and better long-term positioning of the Special Council role.”

 

 6. What are your thoughts and views on an ApeChain?

 

“It's certainly one of, if not, the most exciting prospects around the ecosystem. As a current member of the Special Council, my priority is to ensure that we continue to appropriately follow our governance processes. I am excited to learn more about the potential prospects of ApeChain(s) for our ApeCoin ecosystem!”

The window to vote in the first round of the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council election is currently open and $Ape holders will have until December 13th to cast their coins in support their preferred nominees.

 

After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become ApeCoin DAO Special Council candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from December 14th through December 20th. During this second vote, the community will officially elect its three new Special Council Members!
