MEET THE CANDIDATE: Gifr.Eth Is Running For A Spot On The ApeCoin DAO's Discourse Facilitator Team
ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Discourse Facilitator nominee, Gifr.Eth, is looking to bring their gift of gifs to the ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse page.
Election 2023 is heating up around the swamp as 14 ApeCoin DAO contributors threw their hats in the ring and announced their candidacies for ApeCoin DAO's Discourse Facilitator team earlier this month.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the DAO approved of the creation of a three-person, community led, Discourse moderation team last month when it passed Ape Improvement Proposal-240.
This team will be responsible for “overseeing the proposal process, moderating discussions, enforcing rules, and promoting positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines,” according to the DAO. Each Discourse team member will serve a three-month term and will earn $8,000 USD per month.
One of the candidates running for a spot on the Discourse team is ApeCoin DAO Contributor Gifr.Eth.
"I previously worked in forum moderation for various video games along with community management,” they wrote on their ApeCoin DAO candidate page. “have a strong communication skill and don’t mind asking for help when needed."
To find out more about Gifr.Eth and why they are running for $Ape office, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Gifr.Eth for an interview. Check it out below:
1.In a sentence or two why should the $Ape community vote for you?
“I plan to bring a bit of personality with moderation and forum management. Based on my twitter profile you can see examples of my work where I edit animated gifs and substitute faces in order to create a “meme.”
2.What made you want to run for Discourse Facilitator team?
“It seemed like a great opportunity to really help with skills I’ve acquired in the past and I enjoy a new challenge.”
3. What sets you apart from the other nominees?
“I have worked with various forum software such as vbulltin and phpbb. I’ve worked with various video game companies to help manage and maintain user interest.”
4.What do you hope to accomplish during your term?
“When Ape coin launched, I was all over discourse and felt it was a great place to share our feedback and information. As the days continued, I would log in less and less until eventually I forgot about it. My goal during my term is to help implement some sort of gamification to holders so everyone is more inclined to give feedback or offer suggestions."
5. How did you get into Web3 and NFTs?
“A little over a year ago I started to join discord groups. Eventually I came across a community that I really vibed with and have felt the magic since.”

The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO’s first-ever Discourse Facilitator election is currently open, and ApeCoin holders have until next week to cast their votes. Following this vote, the two nominees with the highest number of votes will begin their terms on the Discourse Facilitator team starting in June.
The Bored Ape Gazette has reached out to all 14 candidates for an interview and will be publishing them as they reply. Stay tuned for updates!"
