MEET THE CANDIDATE: Meirav Haber Is Running For BAYC Community Council Made By Apes Liaison

Meirav Haber has been working with IP her whole career and she has been giving Bored Ape Yacht Club Members a ‘hand’ everyday with her popular Bored Ape Not Club hand generator for ! Now she wants to give Made By Apes businesses a hand in growing their companies as the BAYC Community Council’s first Made By Apes Liaison!

This year’s BAYC Community Council elections are underway, and Apes are taking to the polls to elect a Council Co-Lead, who will act as the committee's co-leader, a Made By Apes Liaison, who will be responsible for finding ways to support and connect Made By Apes businesses, and a Clubhouse and Events Liaison, who will be responsible for setting up events between local BAYC communities and Yuga Labs!

One of the five Apes running for the Made By Apes Liaison role is Meirav Haber, who wants to help design viral marketing campaigns for Made By Apes businesses, create a MBA grants program, and help builders connect with one another if elected!

1. What's your Bored Ape story? What should the community know about you?

“I have been an OG Ape since May 2021! In 2020 I started trading crypto and stacking ETH with my partner Javi. As a professional puppet fabricator and toy prototype painter and an independent stopmotion filmmaker at the time I was also crowdfunding for an independent film and looking for avenues to meet people and network and Javi and I got into clubhouse and started learning about NFTs and everything that was going on in the space at the time. I was a little bit skeptical about NFTs at first but when apes came on the scene I was sold on them almost right away. I was working with and contracted by major companies like Disney, Marvel, Mattel, and Hasbro and so I’d just been surrounded by commercial IP for almost a decade and I could see a lot of potential there. We both bought apes and started having fun with derivatives on the timeline, going to meet ups and just having a good time with the community enjoying our pfp’s. And we started building around our apes. We saw what apes like Nifty Tailor and Paper D were doing and came up with our own ideas of how to help apes brand themselves and do fun things on the timeline. Pretty soon we came up with the BANC hand generator and just jumped into collaborating with other MBA brands (one of the first being Ape Water), as well as building our apes into stopmotion puppets and other products and it’s been an awesome journey!”

2. What’s been your favorite moment of being a BAYC member?

“We went to a small community meet up in LA where we got some hang time in with Gordon Goner and showed him the stop-motion puppets we made of our apes. I told him “they’re posable, do whatever you want!” He played around with them and made my ape flip him the bird!”

 

3. What would you like to accomplish as the BAYC Council Co-Lead? 

“As MBA liaison I would do what I do best and continue to collaborate with apes to deliver strong brand designs and viral marketing campaigns to prop up their online presence. I would also work to improve visibility and utility on the Made by Apes site, make sure ape brands have greater physical presence in IRL meet ups, and be the voice and advocate for builders- relaying to BAYC what ape brands need, designing grant programs and incentives for brands that need funding, and connecting apes with the right collaborators and point people, giving them the tools they need to get their brands off the ground.”

4. What makes you the right Ape for this role?

“I have a proven track record of creating viral and eye catching marketing art for all apes for the past two years, bringing positive attention to brand builders and supporting ape products. As a triple MBA brand holder myself, an official advisor to Ape Water, a collaborator with Ape Water, Bicycle Cards, Applied Primate Engineering, 288 Gang, ApeVine, FuegoApps, members of the Apecoin Special Council and Thankape, and an active member of Welcome Apes and the Ladies of the Yacht Club, I bring a lot to the table and have a deep understanding of the ape culture and what makes it tick. If given the chance to work with made by apes directly I know I can bring a lot of value and utility to the brand!”

5. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say? 

“To celebrate our work with made by apes brands and this week of elections, we have added two new hand filters to our generator for all apes to use- heart hands and made by apes building hands- available to generate for your ape or mutant at http://gen.boredapenotclub.com.
