MEET THE CANDIDATE: Non_Fundribble Is Running For Special Council
ApeCoin DAO contributor and Special Council nominee, Non_Fundribble, joined the DAO to be around the builders and hopes to utilize his experience within operational frameworks as a member of the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council.
The election season of 2023 is in heating up at ApeCoin DAO, with 21 contributors officially running to replace Yat Siu or Alexis Ohanian on the DAO's Special Council this summer.
Among the candidates vying for a position on the ApeCoin DAO's Special Council is ApeCoin DAO contributor Non_Fundribble.
"Having spent the vast majority of my professional life in highly regulated TradFi institutions, including being a committee/board member responsible for the governance and oversight of regulated platforms, I am keen to bring my years of experience within operational frameworks to web3 - my passion."
To find out more about Non_Fundribble. and why he’s the right choice for the DAO, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:
1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?
“I'm a relative newcomer to the DAO. However, my first exposure to the Yugaverse was buying ApeCoin long before I eventually acquired my MAYC. During that time, I have seen wonderful collaboration, respectful discussion and impactful outcomes from the DAO and its contributors. In a space that is fraught with toxicity, I sought out the DAO to witness first-hand the builders and forces for good in web3.”
2.In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?
“I have spent many years working for the largest financial institutions in the world in leadership positions with regional and global remits. I understand the importance of - and have lived experience in - working effectively with stakeholders spanning the globe and have served as a board member for the most highly regulated and internationally significant platforms in the market today. The Special Council is clerical in its function; the successful candidate(s) need to be detail oriented and have experience in dealing with lawyers, compliance personnel and be familiar with regulatory regimes.”
3.What would you like to accomplish if elected?
“A good councilor understands that the role is ensuring an effective, efficient running of foundation business and carrying out the will of the DAO and its members. If elected, I will seek to find efficiency gains within the foundation's operations itself, will deploy professional challenge where needed and will assist the community in identifying opportunities that support growth.”
4. Where do you see the DAO a year from now?
That fate is somewhat in the hands of the community. However, I believe the prospects for the DAO and ApeCoin more broadly are positive. In order to achieve that we as a community need to switch the narrative from onboarding new holders and instead focus on creating more use cases and demand for ApeCoin itself, that is how you achieve growth. A great example of this is the work @novel_labs is doing in partnership with @farawaygg in releasing @Serumcity- the first non-Yuga game powered exclusively by @apecoin.”
5. What makes you different from the other candidates?
“All of the nominees have their own strengths, and I am proud to run alongside each and every one of them. But to borrow a commonly used phrase "I'm built different": I went from high school dropout to running a global sales team and being a committee member for a leading US bank, responsible for a business facilitating in excess of $300 billion in average daily trading volume (ADV). Luck plays no part in that story. I got there through determination and a willingness to fail and get back up. On paper you may be tempted to opt for other nominees, but I can assure you that nobody will work harder for the DAO and its members.”
6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?
“Just a thank you to all those that have and continue to support my journey in web3. If you would like to learn more about me or my experience (believe me there are some stories from the trading floor!) then I would love to connect.”
