MEET THE CANDIDATE: 0xSword Is Running For Working Group Steward
ApeCoin DAO contributor and nominee for Working Group Steward, 0xSword, first joined the DAO after he earned $Ape through his Benji Bananas NFT and is now looking to utilize his governance skillset as one of the DAO's first Stewards!
The ApeCoin DAO is in the middle of its second election season and the DAO is voting to fill two Steward positions in its newly formed Governance Working Group.
These two Working Group Steward’s will be responsible for managing their Working Group Multisig, operational tasks, maintaining documents, organizing, and approving initiatives, communicating with the Ape Foundation and DAO Secretary, approving budgets, executing their Working Group Charters, among other things, according to the DAO.
Among the candidates vying for a Working Group Steward position is ApeCoin DAO contributor 0xSword.
"I am running for Steward of the Governance Working Group to further my involvement in the ecosystem,” 0xSword wrote on his ApeCoin candidate page. “This role will assist with operational support for the Foundation, create and maintain documents and policies related to governance, and have responsibility for shaping initiatives like the Ape Assembly."
To find out more about 0xSword and why he is the right $Ape for the job, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:
1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?
“Last year I bought my first NFT (Benji Bananas) that offered a chance to earn APE through play-to-earn and participation in the newly opened DAO. I've stayed busy exploring the ecosystem and learning web3 since then!”
2. In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?
“I've been the primary contact for a lot of club members and AIPs authors throughout the last year through ApeComms. This is a natural progression for me to continue doing what I love, which is focusing on proposals and governance.”
3. If elected, you’ll be one of the first three WG Stewards. How do you feel about that and what kind of foundation would you like to help set?
“It'll be important for the first stewards to grow participation in the Assembly, as well as begin preparing for to present a full budget to the DAO in August. There should be results by then including functioning working groups like metaverse.”
4. Where do you see the WG framework a year from now?
“Ape Assembly may build out additional working groups such as a treasury or marketing division. I think it’s a fair assessment to say these are not "ApeCoin" working groups, but rather are Ape Assembly initiatives. I hope to expand and grow the Ape Assembly working groups overtime in a conservative step-by-step way.”
5. What would you like to accomplish as a WG Steward?
“Ensuring we're explaining a DAO properly is important to me. I don’t view the DAO as a membership club like BAYC. I think existing clubs and chapters should be invited to take part in the Ape Assembly's monthly Saturday morning meetings.”
6. What makes you different from the other candidates?
“My experience with governance and proposals is far superior to all other candidates. Both Apecomms proposals had me as the member with the highest salary for a reason. It's because of my expertise that I've built up over a long time.”
7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?
“I didn’t want elections and I still don’t believe they surface the best candidates. Having said that, I am here participating in a good way. My brilliance and value can be seen on the forums where we discuss proposals and implementations. My expertise is next level compared to all other stewards on the field. Thank you.”
