The election season of 2023 is underway at the ApeCoin DAO, with 21 contributors officially running to replace Yat Siu or Alexis Ohanian on the DAO's Special Council this summer.

"From the inception of Apecoin DAO, I have been an active and engaged member of the community,” Vish. Eth wrote on his ApeCoin Candidate page. “This firsthand experience has given me invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities that our organization faces. I understand the needs and aspirations of our community members, and I am dedicated to representing their interests on the Special Council. In addition to my strong community involvement, I bring professional expertise as someone who works at a venture capital fund. Through my role, I have gained a deep understanding of market trends, investment strategies, and the importance of fostering innovation. 1.How did you get into the ApeCoin DAO?
“Since minting my apes on May 1st, 2021, I’ve held all yuga assets which led me to be eligible for the APE coin airdrop. The idea of a DAO for apes had been floating around and had started gaining support within the community. It provided an unique opportunity for a community with significant treasury to have a direct impact on the Web3 space. I've held all my APE and have participated in nearly every proposal to help make this vision and reality.”
2.In a sentence or two, why should the community vote for you?
“The community should vote for me because I bring a unique combination of deep community understanding, professional venture capital expertise, and commitment to active participation and transparency in governance. I am dedicated to representing your interests, fostering innovation, and ensuring the sustainable growth and success of ApeCoin DAO.”
3.What would you like to accomplish if elected?
“If elected, my primary goal is to represent the community effectively, ensuring their voices and concerns are heard and addressed in decision-making processes. I would leverage my venture capital experience to help bring forth new ways to start and maintain revenue for the DAO and align them with our community’s goals and values. Additionally, I aim to strengthen the governance processes within ApeCoin DAO, fostering greater transparency, inclusivity, and active participation. I believe that by enhancing engagement and democratizing decision-making, we can drive ApeCoin DAO to new heights, positioning it as a leading force in the decentralized space.”
4. Where do you see the DAO a year from now?
“A year from now, I envision the ApeCoin DAO as a leading force in the decentralized finance ecosystem, known for its robust community engagement, democratic decision-making processes, and ability to foster innovation. With a strong focus on community involvement and transparent governance, I see ApeCoin DAO attracting a diverse and global user base, solidifying its position as a truly decentralized organization. As more participants join, I anticipate an increase in innovative proposals, leading to the development and support of a broader range of projects within the blockchain and crypto space. Moreover, I expect the DAO to have matured in its governance practices, having incorporated various mechanisms that promote active participation and decision-making. This could include educational resources, incentive systems, and improved voting processes that engage the community and make governance more accessible. a year from now, I see ApeCoin DAO as a thriving, inclusive organization that is a key player in the web3 ecosystem, respected for its commitment to its community and its capacity to drive innovative change.”
5. What makes you different from the other candidates?
“What distinguishes me from other candidates is the unique blend of skills, experiences, and perspective that I bring to the table. Firstly, as an active and engaged member of the ApeCoin DAO community from its inception, I have an understanding of our community's values, aspirations, and needs. This firsthand experience allows me to effectively represent and advocate for our community within the council. Secondly, my professional expertise in venture capital is a significant asset. My experience in evaluating and supporting projects, understanding market trends, and developing investment strategies equips me with a unique perspective that can contribute to ApeCoin DAO's strategic decision-making and growth. Thirdly, I bring to the council a robust understanding of intellectual property matters, which is vital in our technology-driven ecosystem. This knowledge is crucial to protect our community’s innovations and foster responsible innovation within ApeCoin DAO. Four, my understanding of political systems would help me propose checks and balances in the governance process. Fifth I’d like to explore new methods for the DAO to generate revenue in a compliant manner and without affecting tax statuses of the members of the DAO. Lastly, my active participation in governance and voting on 99% of community proposals demonstrates my commitment to democratic decision-making and active involvement. Moreover, I have developed innovative ideas to drive more active participation within the DAO, such as creating educational materials and implementing incentive mechanisms. In conclusion, my comprehensive understanding of the ApeCoin community, venture capital expertise, commitment to active participation, and innovative ideas for DAO improvement set me apart from other candidates and position me well to contribute to the council effectively.”

I believe that the potential of our organization is immense, and I am excited about the possibility of contributing further to its growth and success. The window to vote in the ApeCoin DAO's first round of Special Council voting opens on June 15th, and $Ape holders will have until June 21st to cast their votes and support their preferred nominees. After the first round of voting, the top five nominees with the most votes will proceed to the second round of voting and officially become candidates. The DAO will then conduct one more election from June 22nd to 28th, during which the community will elect two Special Council members to replace Yat Siu and Alexis Ohanian on the board.
