ON THE BALLOT: 10 $Ape holders Nominated Themselves For Discourse Facilitator Team Election

Ten ApeCoin DAO contributors have thrown their hats in the ring and are officially running to be on the newly created Discourse Facilitator team.

After A weeklong nomination process and a KYC check, ten $Ape holders are officially running in the DAO’s first ever Discourse Facilitator race.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the DAO approved of the creation of a three-person, community led, Discourse moderation team last month when it passed Ape Improvement Proposal-240.

This team will be responsible for “overseeing the proposal process, moderating discussions, enforcing rules, and promoting positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines,” according to the DAO. Each $Ape holder on the Discourse team will have a three-month term and will earn $8,000 USD per month for their service.

Take a look at the 10 candidates below:

@thejvb

"My beloved, esteemed Apecoin DAO members: I am excited to announce my candidacy for Community Discourse Facilitator within the DAO. My listed experience in community building, organizational management, and charitable oversight should set me apart and uniquely suit me for this role.

The past 3 years of Web3-specific community management and project management have allowed me to further my keen understanding of how to foster engagement and drive success in online communities, building on almost a decade of prior experience managing communities that are inclusive, diverse, equitable, and accessible.

In terms of regulation and compliance, I have experience on boards in public, private, and education sectors. As the elected President of the Graduate Student Body at George Mason University I helped solve policy issues related to the University’s corporate body and pushed forward policy changes in line with student interests. With the Community Foundation of Howard County, MD, I served on both the Scholarships and Grants committees.

I am passionate about Apecoin and would be honored to serve as a Community Discourse Facilitator. Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to answering any questions about how I may contribute to the success of the DAO.”

"Firstly, I’m honored to be a member of the community. In addition to having a deep love for all things BAYC/ Apecoin, I have extensive experience as a Mod, having served as one for both Anonymice & the 10k Club for about a year. Additionally (other than the Sabbath), I pride myself on pretty much always being available. I also love helping others, blogging, and sharing good memes. For these reasons I think I’d be a great fit as a Community Discourse Facilitator. Thank you for your consideration and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!"

@NFTSasha

"I will excel at creating Draft Analysis Reports due to 1) my diverse background (software engineer, then founder of an esports team, then venture partner at a business accelerator, and finally degen/trader) and 2) having already done a nearly identical job at the Stacks business accelerator during summer ’21. We had hundreds of applicants and only 25 spots. Not only did we select founders/ideas of whom almost all succeeded in raising vc rounds, I spent months mentoring and helping them grow. Accelerator itself partnered with OKCoin for 165M fund after this success. I’m thorough, constructively critical, and I want to see DAO proposals succeed just as much as I want to make sure we research all potential risks for the token holders to make informed voting decision. I’ve lived in 4 countries for at least 6 months each in Asia, US, and Europe, which I hope helps me understand local needs on a more nuanced level. Thank you so much if you vote for me!"

@Danlogi_

"Hello, ApeCoin Discourse community! I’m Daniel, a freelancing design thinking coach for multinational corporate clients, proptech founder, and a father who enjoys playing football (actual skills are very questionable). I’m on the newer side to this community (I recently received my ‘Member Level 2’ and ‘New User of the Month’ badges), and have brought with me some fresh perspectives.

I see tremendous potential in the ApeCoin community as a hub for ideas, creativity, and collaboration. With Discourse acting as the conduit, enabling community engagement, idea refinement, pitching, funding, and reporting.

During my time exploring the community (forums, idea posts and the Nov 2022 Transparency Report), I’ve noticed a few areas that could benefit from improvement. There is a need for timely and accessible data for proposed ideas, standardised information reporting, and visual representations to aid decision-making. If chosen for this role, I not only want to support new users, but also see a huge benefit in closing the other gaps I mentioned to bring further value to the community.

With my experience in operational/process teams and leading change initiatives, I have the skills needed to fulfil the responsibilities of this role. As an ex-Transformation Director and Client Co-Creation Lead for a global bank, the soft and hard skills needed for the Community Facilitator sit firmly within my ‘wheel-house’.

Thank you for considering my nomination!"

@gifr_eth

"I previously worked in forum moderation for various video games along with community management. I have a strong communication skills and don’t mind asking for help when needed."

@RageOfPotato

"As someone who has helped numerous people mentor and onboard NFT and web3 all together, I have extensive experience in facilitating communication and understanding between diverse groups of individuals and ideas. I am able to analyze and identify common goals and interests, and provide clear and effective communication that promotes collaboration and fosters positive community interactions. I can help build a community that is engaged, informed, and supportive of the project’s goals. Overall, my combination of community skills and APE specific knowledge make me an excellent fit for the role of Community Discourse Facilitator."

@cryptogr8times

"I am one of the top participants in ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse (top c.20 based on Vulkan’s 10th April stats), earning the Level 3 trust badge for regular contributions to AIP discussions over the last 7 months.

I’m also a core contributor within the Beta Testing Group. This involvement comes from a deep commitment to supporting builders in ApeCoin DAO’s ecosystem and helping them prepare for potential AIP processes.

I am a CIMA qualified accountant and a successful entrepreneur, having built and exited two service businesses. I have proven my organisational skills, working with a wide variety of stakeholders, from many different nationalities and cultural backgrounds.

Above all, I am a committed member of the community and would dedicate myself to supporting ApeCoin DAO in the role of Community Discourse Facilitator.

From my base in Europe, I could ensure coverage of the European time zone as well as providing greater overlap with Asia."

@BojangleGuy

"As someone who spends all day every day on discord, discourse, and twitter, this role is right up my alley. I have a passion for building communities and helping others reach their goals! I currently MOD for the Meebits DAO discord and the official Meebits discord. I am hyper organized, efficient and very tech savvy. Being able to serve the community as a discourse facilitator would be an honor!"

@LogicallyCrypto

"As a Trust Level 3 and one of the most active users and readers within Discourse, I am familiar with the entire scope and history of Discourse, the cadence, language, categories, and active user base. I’m an excellent communicator with fine attention to detail, as well as committed to the successful operation of the ApeCoin DAO as a whole. I’m an ideal candidate for this position."

@12GLepage

"As a dedicated member of the community since its inception, my first hands on experience with the AIP process was as co-author of AIP-8. Although we were unable to get that AIP to snapshot, I have since authored approved AIPs-112, 145, and 212. I have a deep understanding of the AIP process and my experience as an AIP author has taught me the importance of empathy and communication. I am excited about the opportunity as Discourse Facilitator and the chance to continue to contribute to the rebuilding of our community."

ApeCoin DAO contributors will begin to cast their coins in this election beginning on May 18th. $Ape holders will have until May 24th vote.

Following this election, the two nominees with the most votes will begin their terms on the Discourse team in June.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to cover all10 candidates and will bring you updates throughout the Discourse Facilitator election! Stay tuned for updates!
