ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Aims To Create A Social Media Platform For The Yuga Labs Community

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to make an exclusive social media site for the Yuga Labs ecosystem.

AIP-120 titled “ApeClub - Token Gated Social Network for the Yuga Community,” is an ecosystem allocation proposal written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member Wizav.Eth.

“Our goal is to bring the entire Yuga Labs holders community together, both online and offline and help you, the holders, get maximum value from the NFTs/ApeCoin you hold,” Wizav.Eth wrote. “That value is the community behind the assets, and we aim to connect you with that community to create valuable friendships and business relationships. Yuga’s asset holders are entrepreneurs, investors, artists, celebrities, scientists, and professionals from different sectors. Despite their assets and skills, they have limited tools to co-operate, thus decreasing their potential. ApeClub changes this situation and gives every holder maximum value from their membership in this elite Ape club.”

Some of the key features of the ApeClub website are a map with the location of community members, an events list, a directory of projects made by community members, among other things.

At the time of this article’s publication, ApeClub’s website is live and BAYC members can join the platform. At this time there are 300 Bored Apes onboarded to the site.

While ApeClub is currently only available to Bored Apes, Wizav.Eth wrote in their proposal that they would like to welcome MAYC, BAKC, Otherdeed holders, and $Ape holders who have at least 500 coins to the platform.

In total, Wizav.Eth is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate 225,000 $Ape ( $888,750 USD at the time of this article’s publication) to the ApeClub project.

“Our operations currently consume on average $88,000 per month, Wizav.Eth wrote. “We would like to request funding for the next 9 months of operations at an increased burn rate of $125,000 per month in order to achieve the goals mentioned above. This will give us the fuel needed to onboard & satisfy the needs of the Yuga holders community, and explore various means of monetization to fund future development and maintenance.”

The window to vote on AIP-120 open’s tonight at 9 P.M. EST and $Ape holders will have until next Wednesday to cast their votes.
