ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Aims To Establish The Framework For A Treasury Working Group

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to establish the initial framework for an ApeCoin DAO Treasury Working Group.

AIP-242 titled “Working Group Charter – Treasury,” is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Moss.

“The goal of this proposal is to establish the ApeCoin DAO Treasury Working Group,” Moss wrote. “The Treasury Working Group’s mandate is to: Explore legal and governance structures that would enable the DAO to sustain operations and Initiatives in perpetuity. The Treasury Working Group would also request a grant from the foundation, exploring ways to deploy it thoughtfully on-chain while promoting a non-custodial environment.”

Like the other Working Group framework proposals that the DAO has seen recently, this AIP will not cost the DAO anything and will act as a ‘temperature check’ of sorts to see if the DAO is interested in pursuing this kind of committee.

If passed, Moss and other ApeCoin DAO contributors who are interested in spearheading the Treasury Working Group will take part in a Steward elections process through the Ape Assembly. Ape Assembly members will then elect three Stewards who will then propose an initial Treasury Working Group budget to the broader DAO for a community vote.

The window to vote on AIP-242 is currently open and $Apes have until next Wednesday, August 2nd, to cast their coins.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about the Treasury Working Group and why the DAO needs this committee. Stay tuned for updates!
