OTHERSIDE UPDATE: The Second Trip To The Otherside Is Set For March 2023

Christmas came early to the swamp as the Otherside started “waking up.”

After a week that has been anything but boring around the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs took to Twitter and shared a new 65 second clip of the Otherside featuring “in engine footage!”

The video begins with the BAYC’s mascot Curtis, a Voyager Robot and “Blue” (the Koda from the First Trip) traveling across Otherdeed #9353; a baron three-star Bone environment in the Biogenic Swamp.

From there the viewer got several aerial shots of the deserted Otherdeed.

All of the footage from tonight’s video is “in engine footage.” This means that tonight’s trailer was rendered using the game's engine, according to various gaming blogs.

Along with the trailer’s release, Yuga Labs also announced that the second trip to the Otherside will be in March 2023.

“There will be new environments, new mechanics, and an even higher concurrency of users than what we all experienced in First Trip,” Yuga Labs wrote. “Second Trip will be a huge step for Otherside and will be more gamified and high energy. The introduction of these new spaces and mechanics will make for a far richer experience and enable the space to open much more frequently. Customizable avatars will not be ready yet for Second Trip, but there’s a fun solution for those who want to enter with an NFT. Stay tuned for details on that. Also, there might be flying. Just because.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Voyagers went on their first trip to the Otherside on July 16th, 2022. At the time 4,500 Voyagers concurrently broke on through to the Otherside where they found Wagmi-San’s glasses and even fought an evil Koda!

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to bring you continued coverage of tonight’s Otherside announcement. Stay tuned for updates!
