Q&A: This AIP Wants To Introduce Paper Crafting To The ApeCoin DAO
There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that hopes to introduce the DAO to the world of paper crafting and give ApeCoin DAO contributors the tools to make their own paper $Ape logos!
AIP-322 titled ‘ApeCoin Papercraft,’ is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Ape_PaperCraft.
“The project involves creating a papercraft model of the Apecoin logo, digital (unlimited edition) and physical (101 units limit edition),” Ape_PaperCraft wrote. “The papercraft model will be designed to be easily printable and assembled by anyone and will be made available for free to the Apecoin community.”
Take a look at Ape_PaperCraft’s concept art for a paper crafted $Ape logo below:
Ape_PaperCraft is requesting the community to allocate $8,798.15 USD worth of ApeCoin to the project. This allocation will enable them to create downloadable instructions and models for an $Ape papercraft, produce 101 physical $Ape papercraft sets on behalf of the DAO, and develop a digital $Ape papercraft that can be distributed to the entire community.
To find out more about paper crafting and AIP-322, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Ape_PaperCraft for an interview. Check it out below:
1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your AIP?
“The project involves creating a papercraft model of the Apecoin logo, digital (unlimited edition) and physical (101 units limit edition). The papercraft model will be designed to be easily printable and assembled by anyone, and will be made available for free to the Apecoin community. The physical edition will be provided at no cost to individuals who make the most substantial contributions to the DAO in order to encourage and enhance DAO engagement.”
2. What inspired you to write this proposal?
“We thought it could be a fun way to promote the ApeCoin and the DAO behind it.”
3. Can you briefly explain paper crafting and how did you got into it?
“In this fast-paced world where everything is instant, it’s often a welcome change to take the time to create something with your own hands. That’s paper crafting."
4. What should people know about paper crafting before they vote?
“It’s a fun way to show off your handiness and glue skills, kind of like revisiting the good old days when you were a kid.”
5. How difficult will it be for a newbie to make a paper $Ape logo?
“It will be challenging. But nice instructions will be provided. You don’t have to do it in one day. Just take your time”
6. Why should people support your AIP?
“We believe it’s an enjoyable method to encourage people to actively participate in both Apecoin and the Apecoin DAO. A nice and harmless marketing product.”
7. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?
“Let’s make the Apecoin papercraft accessible to everyone! Cast your vote in favor of AIP-322.”
The window to vote on AIP-322 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, October 18, to vote on this proposal.
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow AIP-322 and will let you know how the community votes on this proposal later this week. Stay tuned for updates!
