READY SET NEST: Yuga Labs Released New Information About Its Legends Of The Mara Game
Voyagers are tweet tweeting about Vessel nesting after Yuga Labs released new information about its Legends of the Mara game.
On Tuesday, Yuga Labs took to Twitter via its Othersidemeta account and revealed that Voyagers Otherdeeds will serve as their “boards” during the Legends of the Mara 2d gaming experience later this year and that only one Vessel can “nest” on a board at a time.
“Only one Vessel can be nested on any given Otherdeed Expanded at a time, so choose your first Vessel(s) to nest into Mara wisely,” Yuga Labs’ Gaming Team explained in a press release. “The mechanics of nesting will be further defined in the LoTM Litepaper.”
Further, Yuga Labs also teased that there is something unique about Enchanter Vessels. “Vessels with Enchanter trait and Enchanter Mara have a special role and their magic will be revealed later.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Otherdeed holders are currently able to claim one Vessel per Otherdeed they hold.
The Vessels that Voyagers claim will be randomly assigned as either a Hunting, Farming, or Enchanting. type vessel.
After Voyagers claim their Vessels, the item will undergo an incubation period during the Legends of The Mara game. After that time, the Vessel will reveal as a “Mara.”
“A Mara is an otherworldly creature that emerges from a Vessel," Yuga Labs wrote on its FAQ page. “They are nascent workers able to perform only simple tasks. The three different types of Mara that will emerge from the Vessels will match their Vessel’s role: Farmer, Hunter, or Enchanter. Maras will be ERC-721 tokens separate from Vessels, with a new contract/NFT collection. Maras will be able to be purchased and sold via trading platforms once they’ve emerged from their Vessels as a new collection.”
By claiming a Vessel, Voyagers will also be burning their current Otherdeeds for Yuga Labs’ new dynamic Otherdeed collection dubbed “Otherdeed Expanded.”
“Otherdeed Expanded is your key to unlocking future gameplay experiences and activations, including Otherside: Legends of the Mara,” Yuga Labs wrote in a press release earlier this month. “Otherside will be best experienced using dynamic NFTs that can change over time. The new smart contract will offer Voyagers who choose to burn their original Otherdeed NFT access to Yuga’s new gaming experiences and activations outside of Otherside (the game). Two key components of Legends of the Mara are the use of Otherside Koda NFTs and Otherside Vessel NFTs, which will be integral pieces to playing the game. Throughout the course of gameplay, there will be opportunities to earn new entitlements, upgrade existing entitlements, and evolve entitlements earned, which we’ll learn more about closer to the release date of Legends of the Mara.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Legends of The Mara and will keep you posted on all things Otherside!
