An award-winning tequila brand just made a bored ape its spokesman!
Siempre Tequila announced that Bored Ape #5132 AKA Chido the Bored Ape would be the brands spokesman, according to their Twitter account.
“You need a celebrity endorsement to sell tequila, they said. Ok. Meet our ape, @ApeChido,” the company tweeted along with a photo of Bored Ape #5132. “Slinging quality #Siempre cocktails in the #BAYC bar, and using his winning smile (?) to promote our brand. Let’s go!”
Bored Ape #5132 is a four-trait pink fur ape with bored eyes and a bored pipe mouth. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #5132 is the 186th most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools.
Following the announcement, Bored Ape #5132 AKA Chido took to Twitter to reflect on this momentous moment.
“Never thought I’d see the day that a small-town ape from Mexico would be repping a brand like @siempre_tequilaand being talked about in @HYPEBEAST – but here we are, he tweeted along with hypebeast’s article on the announcement. “Officially serving up the best tequila, as the unofficial mixologist of the #BAYC bar.”
Following the announcement, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Chido for comment on what BAYC members can expect from him and Siempre Tequila going forward. “In our negotiations they have all sorts of amazing things planned, custom cocktails, merch drops, me in ads!”
When asked when apes will see him on a tequila bottle, Chido told the Bored Ape Gazette that they’re working on it. “That’s the plan,” he said. “Working on timing. In the short term it will be a super limited edition drop as opposed to something in mass retail, but who knows where things will take us!”
Along with giving us a taste of what’s to come with Siempre Tequila, Chido also told the Bored Ape Gazette what his go to drink is. “My go to drink is tequila, neat. But not in a shot. Good tequila should be sipped. If you need salt and lime, you’re drinking the wrong stuff.”
