SPOTLIGHT: BAYC-Inspired Restaurant Bored Cuban Is Opening This Thursday In Miami!

Cuban cuisine and a side of boredom will be on the menu in the Magic City as this Made By Apes brand gets ready for its grand opening later this week! 

Things are anything but boring in Miami as Bored Ape Yacht Club member and restaurateur, Eric Castellanos, blends his Cuban heritage with Miami culture, adds a dash of Web3 ethos, and incorporates a giant dose of a Bored Ape mascot that embodies the city’s culture in his latest restaurant venture, Bored Cuban, scheduled to open on February 15th.

When it opens, Bored Cuban will be serving Apes and non-Apes along with Degens and normies a host of traditional Cuban foods such as croquetas, empanadas, and tostadas for breakfast alongside Acai Bowls, breakfast sandwiches, and tasty treats like their pastelitos. For Lunch and Dinner, Bored Cuban will be serving ‘Pixas’ which they described as a playful nod to the local community’s lingo for pizza or flatbreads, among other dishes!

Along with many traditional Cuban cuisines, Bored Cuban will also serve various BAYC inspired items like its Monkey and Banana Nut Breads, its Chunky Monkey smoothie, and its Bored Combo meal that Castellanos described as an adult happy meal that comes encased in a limited edition Bored Cuban box!

Castellanos first got the idea to create a Cuban themed restaurant back in 2022 when he traded his first Ape for the primate that would eventually become his restaurant’s mascot, Bored Ape #984, a six-trait brown fur primate with a Guayabera shirt and a Bored Cigar mouth.

“My Bored Ape is a Hialeah native named Manolo, with a laid-back, old soul,” Castellanos said. “I wanted a mascot that would be the face of this fun, easy, fast-casual dining concept that I have been dreaming about for years.”

Castellanos’ dream will become a reality this Thursday and Apes in the area are invited to come check out his restaurant located at 831 NW 42nd Avenue (LeJeune), Miami, FL 33126.
