SPOTLIGHT: This Bored Ape Artist Is Using 'Simplicity And Connection' To Pay Homage To Bitcoin In His Latest Works!
Bitcoin Orange is the new Bored around the swamp after longtime artist and Bored Ape Yacht Club member, Jack Nefty, began reimagining Web3 enthusiasts' profile photos in a style that pays homage to the original blockchain!
Jack Nefty’s has always been an artist, but many around the Web3 world recently became familiar with his work after he shifted gears and began experimenting with simple connecting lines that were inspired by Bitcoin.
“Reply w your pfp and I’ll paint it, he tweeted in March 14th. “This will go viral so offer only stands for one hour.”
In that short time, Jack Nefty's comment section was filled with Apes, Penguins, Puppets, Wizards, and more, all hoping to have their PFPs reimagined in his unique style.
“My art style has evolved over the years but I’ve been focused mostly on orange one line art as of late… It’s all about simplicity and connection, kinda like the blockchain, he said. And hmmm… why orange… well, I suppose I subconsciously picked orange because it's the color of Bitcoin, the OG blockchain that birthed this whole space. So I guess the color orange represents innovation and sovereignty… freedom.”
While Jack is currently drawing people's PFPs just for fun, he hopes to one day start his own DAO where his works are used as governance tokens.
“Wen I’m not painting, I’m working on designing a DAO… an experiment in DAO viability (my other passion is organizational operations), he said. “One day soon my art will serve as a general governance token to the DAO, but at the moment there’s no formal method to request an art piece, but soon TM.”
As the crypto world eagerly awaits Jack's launch of his own DAO, Apes, Punks, Mocas, and more are invited to fill the comment section of this article and have their PFPs reimagined by Jack!
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Jack’s art and his work on an experimental DAO. Stay tuned for updates!
