The Ape Assembly Is Electing A Spokesperson& Coordinator. Find Out More About The Race& How To Run:
The ApeCoin DAO is looking to elect an Ape Assembly Spokesperson and Coordinator for the committee by the end of the month and active ApeCoin DAO Contributors are invited to throw their hats in the ring and run for $Ape office.
Last night, ApeCoin DAO Governance Working Group Steward TigerIsFine took to the Ape Assembly Discord channel and announced that ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until August 20th to nominate themselves for either the Ape Assembly Spokesperson or Coordinator races.
“We are excited to announce the opening of two important positions within the Ape Assembly: Spokesperson and Coordinator,” TigerIsFine wrote. “The elected AA (Ape Assembly) Spokesperson and Coordinator will work closely with the Governance Working Group Stewards to shape the Ape Assembly structure, roles as well as bring the Ape Assembly to life. As we continue to evolve and grow, these roles play a crucial part in ensuring effective communication, coordination, and documentation within our community.”
The Ape Assembly Spokesperson will be the committee’s official representative and they will be responsible for collaborating with other Working Groups, ensuring transparency in the Ape Assembly, and reporting the committee’s activities to the Governance Working Group and the broader ApeCoin DAO.
While the Spokesperson will be the Ape Assembly’s official representative the Ape Assembly’s Coordinator will be responsible for taking notes during Ape Assembly meetings, coordinating meeting times and agendas, and assisting the Spokesperson and other Ape Assembly members in their communication efforts.
Each of these positions will pay 420.69 $ape per month and the office holders are expected to work 8-10 hours per week, according to TigerIsFine.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Ape Assembly is a governing body of highly active governance participants within the ApeCoin Ecosystem that was established as part of AIP 239 and controls a monthly budget of $10,000 USD. To join the Ape Assembly, ApeCoin DAO contributors must have either have a Discourse Trust Level 2+, own 50,000+ $Ape, or have voted in at least 50% of AIP votes, according to AIP-239.
After the nomination period, the ApeCoin DAO's Ape Assembly members will vote for their preferred candidates from August 21 to 27. Following the election, the new Ape Assembly Spokesperson and Coordinator will begin their four-month terms on September 1st.
