The ApeCoin DAO's MarComms Working Group's $493K Budget Proposal Is On The Ballot This Week. Here's What You Need To Know:
The ApeCoin DAO's Marketing and Communication Working Group is asking the $Ape community to allocate $493,500 USD to the committee so that they can build a brand strategy for ApeCoin, determine the coin's culture, empower creators in the community, start an IRL event series to connect $Apes, and more!
Three months after the ApeCoin DAO elected Linstro and Popil as its first MarComms Working Group Stewards, the pair has put forth a budget proposal, Ape Improvement Proposal 403 titled 'ApeCoin DAO Marketing & Communications (MarComms) Working Group Budget,' that they believe will help strengthen the ApeCoin brand and foster its culture.
“This proposal aims to refine the ApeCoin branding, enhancing standardization and proactive communication,” Popil wrote. “Strengthening internal and external communication, encouraging onboarding, and increasing community participation. Initiatives such as social media engagement and in-person events will effectively structure brand narratives. MarComms aims to foster a more creative, globally-connected, and linguistically diverse community environment.”
In total, Linstro and Popil are asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $493,500 USD worth of $Ape to cover the MarComms Working Group’s first six months of operational needs so they start marketing and expanding the $Ape brand.
If passed, $180,000 USD will be allocated towards 'Brand Strategy & Development,' with the majority of these funds allocated to the 'content ecosystem.
“Once budget is confirmed, we will identify, vet, and collaborate with a global team of professionals in the field of video production to develop and deliver a mini-series,” she wrote. “In order to streamline and optimize, we will also deliver trailers, teasers, and other marketing material in accordance to a premiere timeline. While there are no current plans to monetize the YouTube-hosted mini-series, if such plans were to arise in the future, royalties from content would be distributed equitably among content creators, contributors, ApeCoin DAO, and stakeholders involved in the production process.”
Another $178,000 USD will go towards ‘Community& Culture’ with the majority of these funds going towards a MarComms event series.
“Once budget is confirmed, we will identify, vet, and collaborate with global event planning professionals to coincide community-focused events with relevant key global Crypto/NFT events,” Popil wrote. Events will be paired with marketing plans that coordinate the above disciplines, such as social media, PR, and content development.”
Finally, $135,500 USD will be used to cover expenses such as the monthly salaries of $9,000 USD to Linstro and Popil each, as well as third-party services including legal, accounting, and LLC setup.
The window to vote on AIP-403 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, April 3rd, to cast their coins and vote on this AIP.
The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about AIP-403 and will bring you an interview with Linstro and Popil about their proposed budget soon. Stay tuned for updates!
