The Bored Ape Yacht Club Votes To End The Mobile Game Competition A Day Early
Updated: Feb 8, 2022
After last nights Bored Ape Yacht Club community vote, the mobile game competition will end tonight at 7 p.m. EST.
“The fate of the BAYC x MAYC mobile game competition has been decided by the community, The BAYC tweeted this afternoon. “Due to overwhelming popular demand, the competition will end today at 7pm ET. The final tally was 1148 in favor of vs 319 opposed. Thanks for playing, and good luck in these final hours.”
The BAYC went on to say that they will be tallying final scores and running “anti-cheat checks” once the competition ends. The BAYC will then post the final leaderboard this weekend. “If you qualified for a prize, you will automatically be sent it once production on all prizes is completed, the club tweeted. “You don't need to do anything else.”
For apes who are competing for the top prizes, the BAYC said that level 500 is the end of the game and ties will be broken based on how fast apes beat the final stage. Apes who get to level 500 and can replay the level to go for a shorter time.
Changing the ending date of the mobile game wasn’t the BAYC’s first change to the mobile game competition. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, The BAYC decided to reward the top 1000 scorers on each game instead of the top 500.
“Stoked to see so many users climbing the leaderboard on the BAYC x MAYC Mobile Game Competition," the BAYC tweeted. “In recognition of your efforts, we're expanding the lowest reward for each game to the top 1k users."
With the change, the top 1000 scoring apes will now receive the Curtis plush toy and the top 1000 scoring mutants will receive the “Drink it!” t-shirt.
