The Rolling Stones X BAYC and MAYC Collab Covers Sold For Insane Amounts
Updated: Feb 8, 2022
The Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club Rolling Stones collab covers sold this evening for insane amounts!
Earlier this month, BAYC and the Rolling Stones came together to create 1/1 magazine covers for BAYC and MAYC. The covers were then auctioned off on Rarible. The BAYC cover features Curtis smoking a cigar in front of a ton of twirling bananas and the MAYC cover features a dripping Mutant Curtis in front of wild party.
The auction came down to the wire, as each cover garnered a lot of attention from the BAYC and NFT community. In the end, the BAYC cover sold for 100 Eth to Bored Ape #4148, Saint Bayview on Twitter, and the MAYC cover sold for 47 Eth to Twitter user Jmogul21.
Congrats to the new owners of the @RollingStonex BAYC/MAYC Covers, @SaintBayview and @Jmogul21, the BAYC tweeted after the auction. “Stoked to have these first-ever @RollingStone NFT covers out in the wild. Truly historic.”
After the auction, BAYC member and Podcast host The Schiller tweeted that he had not heard of either of the winners before today. “New apes,” he asked. “Hadn’t seen either name before. But they got bags apparently.”
Saint Bayview replied to Schiller and shared his thoughts on NFTs and the BAYC. “I find the NFT space fascinating, especially dynamic projects like BAYC, he tweeted. “I have never sold any NFT I purchased, because I don’t do this for the money. I do it out of intrigue. See you in the swamp!”
The Bored Ape Gazette has reached out to each of the winners but did not immediately hear back.
