The Window To Vote In The ApeCoin DAO's Discourse Facilitator Election Closes At 9 PM EST

The ApeCoin DAO’s second election season is here, and community members with at least one $Ape in their wallets have until tonight at 9 P.M. EST to cast their votes for their preferred candidates in the Discourse Facilitator Election.

The first of three $Ape summer elections is underway, and $Ape holders have until tonight to make their voices heard and vote in the Discourse Facilitator Election

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the ApeCoin community approved of the creation of a three-person Discourse Facilitator team when it passed Ape Improvement Proposal 240.

This team will be responsible for “overseeing the proposal process, moderating discussions, enforcing rules, and promoting positive community engagement based on DAO-approved guidelines,” according to the DAO. Each Discourse team member will serve a three-month term and will earn $8,000 USD per month.

Further, ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Former Working Group Zero Steward HodlrCollective AKA Lost will be appointed to this moderation team and the ApeCoin community will elect the two other team members, according to AIP-240.

14 ApeCoin DAO contributors threw their hats in the ring and are running for the two open positions on the ApeCoin DAO’s Discourse Moderation team.

Over the last week, the Gazette reached out to every candidate for an interview and was able to talk with 10 of them.

The Bored Ape Gazette highly encourages every voter to read through the paper’s full Q&A with each candidate to find out more about them and why they believe they’re the right choice for $Ape office!

You can find links to each Candidate’s interview below along with their answer to why the community should vote for them:

Gifr.Eth: "“I plan to bring a bit of personality with moderation and forum management. Based on my twitter profile you can see examples of my work where I edit animated gifs and substitute faces in order to create a “meme.”

SSPNFT: “If the $APE community is looking for someone that can hit the ground running, someone who understands exactly how the AIP process works, has over 8 months of working with Lost, Vulkan, Amplify and Special Council, and only seeks to continuously improve things, then I would request you a take a second look at my candidacy and respectfully ask for your vote.”

Evil: "“I’m someone who is ready to commit 100% towards the community. Was also one of the first people to get a chance to be onboard Working Group 0 and vote for Stewards since I was one of the active users of forums.”

LogicallyCrypto: "The community should vote for me because as a regular Discourse user and long-tenured community member uniquely familiar with the timing, cadence, and specifications of the AIP process, I will be able to “hit the ground running” and immediately get to work on the smooth facilitation of AIPs through the process pipeline.”

NFTSahsa: "“My responses on the Forums hopefully show how thorough and active I am. This is the thoroughness and work ethic I will bring to the DAO as Discourse Facilitator.”

Ms. NFTy: “I have a background in developing businesses that directly impacts my ability to help members writing their AIPs, and and inherent desire to help others. This fuels my spirit.

BojangleGuy: “I have been in crypto since 2017. It is my passion. I have been super involved with the ApeCoin DAO and would love to help the community as a facilitator.”

Danlogi: “The last corporate role I took on, saw me swim to the top of a pool of 400+ candidates. I consider myself creative, entrepreneurial and good at working with a community to define problems and build solutions; being able to do that for the $APE community would be a privilege.”

TheJVB: “The Ape Community should vote for me because I have a body of experience that should ensure success, and I am passionate about inclusive growth while adhering to ApeCoin’s mission statement and driving ApeCoin to the top of art, gaming, and entertainment culture. I feel we often take too myopic a view and forget that Web3 is a relatively small niche community that will require onboarding to grow.”

12GLepage: "As a committed member of ApeCoin DAO, my journey as an author since AIP-8 has provided me a deep understanding of the DAO including potential risks to the foundation. Additionally, my experience with our previous administration has taught me the importance of timely communication and empathy.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the ApeCoin DAO's election season and will let you know who is elected to the Discourse Facilitator Team later tonight. Stay tuned for updates.
