This Familiar Looking Bored Ape Just Sold For 100 ETH.

Bored Ape Yacht Club member, IP Collector lived up to his name today purchasing a very familiar looking ape.

IP Collector purchased Bored Ape #4712 for 100 Eth or roughly $283,000 USD this evening. Bored Ape #4712 is a seven trait dark brown fur ape with a sea captain’s hat and a Hawaiian shirt. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #4712 is the 6833 rarest ape, according to Rarity Tools.

After the purchase some were a bit confused why this particular ape sold for 100 Eth. “What lol,” BAYC member Marshall tweeted.

While Bored Ape #4712 may not be the rarest ape, the primate is quite famous at the BAYC. Bored Ape #4712 bears a striking resemblance to the bored ape featured on the “Bored Ape Yacht Club/ lofi hip hop radio” station on YouTube.

Bored Ape #4712 is one of only two apes in the BAYC that have dark brown fur, a Hawaiian shirt and sea captain's hat, like the one in the animation, according to Opensea. The only other ape that resembles the ape in the animation is listed for 500 Eth or $1,424,000 USD.

After the purchase, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to IP Collector for comment.
