Yuga Labs' Incoming CEO, Daniel Alegre, Shared His Thoughts On The Second Trip.

After Yuga Labs announced that Voyagers would be breaking on through to the Otherside on March 25th, Yuga Labs’ incoming CEO broke on through to social media to share his thoughts on the 2nd trip.

On Wednesday, Yuga Labs announced that its highly anticipated 2nd trip to the company’s metaverse would be taking place on Saturday March 25th.

“2nd Trip will bring Voyagers into Otherside for an interactive gaming experience led by our first ever Otherside Team Captains,” Yuga Labs tweeted from its OthersideMeta account. “Details on Team Captains will be shared at a later date. Otherdeed holders will also have the opportunity to invite a guest into 2nd Trip. Otherdeed holders will have priority access. Guest passes are not guaranteed entry. We are also expanding the playable region list from First Trip, allowing more Voyagers from around the globe to participate in the event. Everybody is invited to watch along on our official livestream.”

Following Yuga Labs’ Otherside update, the company’s soon to be CEO, Daniel Alegre, took to Twitter and told the community that he’s excited for the second trip.

“On to the boundaries of the wildest imagination,” he tweeted. “Anticipation for the 2nd trip of Otherside.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs announced that Alegre would be taking over as the company’s CEO in mid 2023 in a December 2022 press release.

In that press release, Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga explicitly said that Alegre was joining the Yuga Labs team to help the company compete with “giants” in the metaverse space.

“When it comes to the metaverse we’re competing with giants,” Garga wrote on December 19th,2022. “In order to catapult Otherside and our other ambitious projects to new heights, we’ve known for a long time we wanted to bring in someone with a proven track record of building at the highest possible level. Knowing this, Nicole, Wylie, and I have been on the hunt for the right candidate. Our search led us to Daniel Alegre who will become Yuga Labs’ new CEO in the first half of 2023. Daniel is a seasoned, visionary executive who shares our passion for innovation and creativity.”

Prior to being named as Yuga Labs’ next CEO, Alegre worked at Activision Blizzard for three years as the company’s President and Chief Operating Officer. Before that, Alegre spent 16 years at Google where he was the President of Global and Strategic Partnerships, the President of Global Retail, the President of Asia Pacific, among several other roles.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to bring you continued coverage of the second trip. Stay tuned for updates!
