Yuga Labs Is Delaying Dookey Dash Unclogged's Launch To Make It More Casual Friendly, According To Garga

Yuga Labs and Faraway Gaming Studios are going to need more time to make the pipes below the Bored Ape Yacht Club more welcoming for casual gamers and first-time players before launching Dookey Dash Unclogged.

On Monday, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took to Twitter and gave the Web3 World an update on the company’s highly anticpated Dookey Dash Unclogged.

“wen Dookey Dash? [long, sorry],” Garga tweeted. “Some updates: The competitive part of Dookey Dash is pretty well cooked and many of you have gotten a chance to playtest the game in some form, either at NFT Paris, in Dubai at Token2049, or as part of our gaming council. THANK YOU for being part of testing and dealing with bugs as we QA the shit out of the game. A not-final build of the game is currently live in the Philippines and Australia for testing. This version is missing a ton of features we’ve been busy building with @farawaygg, as well as many completed parts of the game that we can’t push live until Season 1 begins. What are we adding? A bunch of things to make the game more casual-friendly.”

To make the game 'casual-friendly,' Garga said that he and the teams are adding new maps, an arcade mode, weekly tournaments, and daily quests to go alongside the 'champion mode' that BAYC members and Sewer Pass holders played in February 2023.

“It’s a LOT of new upgrades to Dookey Dash, all with the aim of making the game fun for everyone and not just twitchy nerds with fast reflexes,” Garga wrote. “Looking forward to getting my mom to play. All that said, I don’t want to push this sucker live until I feel like we’ve got the best game possible. Good news is, all the new features will be out of dev later this month, and we’ll be able to give an update on launch date then.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced that it was working with Faraway Gaming Studios on Dookey Dash Unclogged in January 2024.

"The goal of Dookey Dash Unclogged is to put BAYC and Yuga into a million people's pockets,” Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga tweeted in January. "(In the dumbest way possible lol).”

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to bring you additional coverage of Garga’s Dookey Dash Unclogged update and will let you know when the sewers below the BAYC are open for business. Stay tuned for updates!
