Yuga Labs Revealed That The Second Trip Will Have A Competition Aspect& Announced Team Captains
As Voyagers get ready to break on through to the Otherside this weekend, Yuga Labs announced that Voyagers will be competing on teams against one another and revealed its four 2nd trip Team Captains!
“Meet your 2nd Trip Team Captains, @jfwong, @brycent_, @Lowbellie, and @champmedici,” Yuga Labs tweeted form its Othersidemeta account this evening. “They will lead their teams through #Otherside2ndTrip on 3/25 @ 12pm EDT / 4pm UTC.”
Upon entering the Otherside on Saturday, Voyagers will be randomly placed onto either @jfwong, @brycent_, @Lowbellie, or @champmedici’s 2nd trip team.
“A journey to Otherside wouldn’t be complete without an objective, and without giving too much away, we’re announcing that Voyagers will be competing against each other in teams during 2nd Trip," Yuga Labs wrote in a blog post today. “We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes selecting leaders for these teams, and today we’d like to introduce you to your Team Captains. We’re super excited to partner with each of them to bring you this experience. When you enter 2nd Trip, you’ll be randomly assigned to one of four teams: Luster (yellow), Crimson (red), Veldan (green), or Glacial (blue). Each team will have a captain to provide guidance and advice on your objective. What is that objective, you ask? Obviously, we can’t give it all away yet, but just know that each of the Team Captains possess the skills to help you crush it.”
Yuga Labs first teased the idea of an Otherside competition in December 2022 when the company announced the Second Trip.
“There will be new environments, new mechanics, and an even higher concurrency of users than what we all experienced in First Trip,” Yuga Labs wrote in a press release on December 22nd, 2022. “Second Trip will be a huge step for Otherside and will be more gamified and high energy. The introduction of these new spaces and mechanics will make for a far richer experience and enable the space to open much more frequently. Customizable avatars will not be ready yet for Second Trip, but there’s a fun solution for those who want to enter with an NFT. Stay tuned for details on that. Also, there might be flying. Just because.”
At the time of this articles publication, we do not know what the competition will be like, but we do know that Apes will not want to miss it, according to Yuga Labs’ Chief Gaming Officer Spencer Tucker.
“It’s definitely not to miss, it’s going to be amazing, team has worked super hard to make it EPIC,” Tucker tweeted.
