A Charity Auction For An Honorary Bored Ape Raised Over $10,000 For The Center For Great Apes
The Bored Ape Yacht Club saw a historic auction end yesterday as an Honorary Bored Ape was sold for over $10,000.
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Crypto Influencer Loomdart teamed up with BAYC member 0Xwave to auction his honorary Bored Ape.
After the week-long auction, Loomdart’s ape sold for 4.6305 Eth to Opensea user, SP2. While SP2 does not own any official Bored Apes, this account is possibly linked to another Opensea account, SuperTopSecret, based on Opensea Transfer activity. SuperTopSecret’s account currently holds Bored Ape 8976 and two Bored Ape Kennel Club Dogs, based on their wallet.
After Winning the Loomdart Honorary Bored Ape auction, SP2 has sent a pair of offers on two other Honorary Bored Apes for 17.5 Eth or 19.5 Eth.
In total, there are 20 Honorary Bored Apes in total. While these apes are outside of the BAYC and do not come with member privileges, they’re a neat piece of BAYC history.
After the auction concluded, 0xWave took to Twitter to announce the results.
“The auction has concluded,” he tweeted. “The @CFGA will be receiving a $10,673 donation from the sale of @loomdart's honorary @BoredApeYC #NFT Congratulations to the buyer.”
The CFGA aka, The Center For Great Apes, is a non-profit that gives orangutans and chimpanzees that have been mistreated a new home.
“It's very rewarding, love seeing the real world impact we can have,” 0xWave said.
