A HUDDLE OF A JOURNEY: From Three Arrows Capital To Moonbirds Owner Spencer And Now Adam Weitsman, These 48 Pudgy Penguins, Lil Pudgys, And Rods Have Weathered Bull And Bear Markets!

Forget the lone penguin and the mountain. It’s been a huddle of a journey for these 48 Pudgy Penguins, 48 Lil Pudgys, and 48 Rods. Originally curated by Three Arrows Capital before its collapse in 2022, the collection later found a home with Orange Cap Games CEO and Moonbirds owner Spencer, who held the Pengus for years. Now, the huddle is on the move again, as HV-MTL owner and NFT enthusiast Adam Weitsman adds these fat flightless birds to his top tier collection.

 

Over the weekend, Weitsman acquired all 48 Pudgy Penguins, 48 Lil Pudgys, and 48 Rods from his friend and Moonbirds Founder Spencer, more than two and a half years after Spencer originally acquired the collection from Three Arrows Capital, the now-defunct firm founded by Su Zhu and Kyle Davies.

Back in 2023, Spencer referred to the collection as the “crown jewel of a historic NFT art collection,” at a time when Pudgy Penguins had a floor price of roughly $8,000 and $PENGU wasn’t even a thought!

 

“Quite simply put, Pudgy Penguins seems incredibly well positioned to lead the next cycle in NFTs. @LucaNetz gave the space and his holders hope,” he wrote.T”he idea that even rugged projects can and should be resurrected is compelling for the existence and longevity of our forever-inscribed tokens beyond the individuals who initially created them….These specific penguins have had a more arduous journey than most… we believe this adds to their provenance and on-chain history.
