ALL A-BORED: The First Voyage To The Otherside Is Next Month. Here's What We Know So Far

As Yuga Labs and Otherside Voyagers prepare for the upcoming “First Trip” next month, the company took to Twitter and invited the community to fill out a brief survey to determine how many people will be able to make the journey.

“Calling all Voyagers,” OthersideMeta tweeted this Afternoon “Are you free for the First Trip on July 16th? Head to the official Otherside discord to answer a 2-question survey to help us with the headcount. Excited for you to explore, give feedback, and help us make the Otherside everything you want it to be. This survey will be live for 48 hours only in the official Otherside discord. Verification is all done in server (never in DMs) with no need for a gas signature. Official discord link: http://discord.gg/the-otherside.”

Once Voyagers verify their account via Discord, they are asked two simple questions about the first trip.

The first question Yuga Labs asked is whether they can make the first trip on July 16th?

The second question Yuga Labs asked its users is what time they would prefer the first voyage to take off.

At the time of this article’s publication, it appears that roughly 2100 users will be on the first trip to the Otherside, according to the Discord responses. There will likely be many more users who say they will attend the excursion as the 48-hour survey window begins to close.

This “Frist Trip,” has been described as “The first tech demo of the Otherside, for Voyagers only. A celebration of what’s to come and an opportunity for Voyagers to gather, explore, and plan,” according to the Otherside’s official website.

While no one knows exactly what to expect on July 16th, Yuga Labs has previously teased Voyagers with a sneak peak of the “First Trip.”

“And here’s a sneak peak of the First Trip, the tech demo from @Improbableio,” OthersideMeta tweeted on May 11th along with a 36 second clip. “Can’t wait to share the experience with you.”

The video begins with Curtis waving to the viewer and welcoming them to the Otherside. The video then shows the primate running around the world.

At the halfway point of the video, Curtis jumps into some sort of vortex and is transported into a swamp by the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

There has been a lot of speculation around the BAYC regarding how far along the Otherside is. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Improbable, the gaming studio working with Yuga Labs to build the Otherside, has said that the game was already in early development.

“Otherside is going to blow people’s minds while upending decades-long ideas of what gaming is and what’s possible with open platforms,” ,” Improbable CEO Herman Narula said in a press release from April 29th. “In just our early development, we’ve successfully tested over 15,000 people interacting in the same virtual space at the same time using M2 technology. Partnering with Yuga we think we are helping lay the foundation for something that will open the door to new experiences across art, entertainment, gaming, and more in a big way.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to keep you informed on all things Otherisde and will let you know more about the first trip as more information becomes available Stay tuned for updates!
