Short shorts, rugby polos, and a nautical vibe fit for Nantucket! Yuga Labs is set to put the Yacht Club back in the Bored Ape Yacht Club with the first of many limited edition apparel drops that are for members only!

On Wednesday, the BAYC announced Anchors, a new series of limited edition collabs between the club and artists designed to bring fresh styles to the swamp.

“Introducing Anchor Drops: a new series of limited-run BAYC collaborations,” the BAYC tweeted on Wednesday. “First up, King Saladeen brings his world to the Yacht Club with a limited summer capsule made for members only. BAYC x King Saladeen. Coming soon.”

King Saladeen is a contemporary visual artist from West Philadelphia who's known for his vibrant aesthetic and signature “Money Bear” character. Previously, Saladeen has worked with brands like Lamborghini and Rolls Royce, and his work has been displayed at Art Basels around the world and NBA All Star Weekend.

Based on today's announcement, it appears that the BAYC will be combining timeless styles that evoke sailing and life on the water with Saladeen's bold flair to create something that's classic, but anything but boring.

“Bookmark this Quote tweet: This will be one of the dopest collaborations to ever come out of BAYC.,” BAYC. Member and Philly native Big Cuz tweeted. “And I guarantee the pieces that drop will be top 2 all time.”

Tonight, we do not know what items will be part of this Anchor collection with King Saladeen or exactly when it will drop.

But we do know that Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge has previously said he wanted to see the BAYC fully lean into the Yacht Club aesthetic, especially after the success of its five panel hat back in April.

“We’ve also been thinking about what it actually means to be a Yacht Club - not just the name, but the feeling behind it,” the BAYC tweeted. “That’s starting to take shape. From here on out, you’ll see it show up more clearly in our apparel, our collaborations, and an aesthetic that finally does the Yacht Club name justice.”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things Ape apparel and will let you know when this Anchor collection officially drops around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
