APED IN: This Bored Ape Yacht Club Member Purchased An Honorary Ape For $68K USD Last Night!

One of Yuga Labs’ least discussed collections saw its first sale in nine months last night, and this Bored Ape Yacht Club member believes these “Honorary Apes” might just be the most undervalued NFTs in the swamp!

 

On Wednesday, BAYC member Alex Aleksandrovski purchased Honorary Bored Ape #7, dubbed ‘Alchemist Ape,’ which was created for NFT collector degenerativeArt, from BAYC member Pipehitter for 18 ETH, or $68,000 USD.

 

 

“Just added Honorary Bored Ape #7 to my collection!!!  @BoredApeYC,” BAYC member Aleksandrovski tweeted after his purchase.

 

 

“I’ve had my eyes on this specific honorary ape because it’s the #7 which is my lucky # and I own the mutant ape #7,” Aleksandrovsk told the Gazette after his pick up. “ I think honorary apes are extremely undervalued as there are only 35 ever made and have some of the most amazing artworks. They’re literally 1/1 bored apes. They should be worth more than golds but people haven’t caught on yet.”

 

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC Honorary Members collection is made up of 35 primates that were created for those who helped bring awareness to the club during its presale days in April 2021.

 

“Honorary Membership was given to people who helped bring awareness to the BAYC project during its pre-sale phrase,” the collections’ about section states. “These apes are not a part of the 10k Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, and do not have member privileges.”
