As the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s prices and popularity head to the moon, one Bored Ape is trying to get the BAYC new members.
Bored Ape #3449, Known as Clarence, along with other Bored Apes, came up with an initiative called, “The Great Giveawapes”
Clarence and the other apes goal is to raise money via a raffle system and purchase floor priced Bored Apes. From there, Clarence hopes to get these apes in the hands of long term holders who won’t flip them, but will instead hold their apes and build up the Bored Ape Yacht Club community.
“The initiative came from just not enough people to reach out to personally I felt,” Clarence said. “My goal here is to build a community that does not capitalize off of one another, but works together to find ways to capitalize together."
Currently, The Bored Ape Yacht Club has 3,600 unique members and has a floor price of nearly .9 Eth, according to Opensea.
Compared to other Non-fungible Token communities, like CryptoPunks, the Bored Ape Yacht Club has over 1,000 more unique members, based on Opensea statistics.
While The BAYC has many members compared to other communities, Clarence believes there's still room for more BAYC members.
To Clarence, The Great Giveawapes initiative means new BAYC members, more creativity in the community and more ways for apes to make money.
“ I’m truly hoping it just sparks the community to not focus so much on selling the ape to make money,” Clarence said. “ But to work together on derivatives and businesses that make you money.” I started a discord called “Baked Apes” and within minutes we were already incorporating drop shipping and all for the physical thing we’re trying to bring to life. I don’t know any of those human beings. It’s just trust, faith, empathy, and believing in one common goal that drives me to do this.”
Clarence’s goal for The Great Giveawapes is to raffle off a total of ten apes very soon.
Raffle tickets for the initiative will be sold on Opensea as 3D NFT tickets. The price of the ticket will be around 95 USD or .035 ETH. All the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards purchasing apes. Clarence said he will not take a profit from this initiative.
While only non-ape holers are able to win a Bored Ape, Current BAYC members can still purchase tickets to give away to non-ape holders or they can win free derivatives of their current apes.
