“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?”: Yuga Labs’ James Hall Reminds “Mother Fuckers” That Otherside Is “The Biggest Experiment Onchain”

From Uniswap v4 hooks to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s tokenized stock innovation exemption, experimentation onchain is alive and well, and Yuga Labs’ James Hall wants to remind everyone that Otherside is one of the space’s biggest experiments ever!

During Thursday’s Meet at the Clubhouse, the Yuga Labs team stopped by to talk about building cool things in crypto and field lingering questions about what they’re working on. Hall’s answer? A whole new world.

“I hear a lot of people saying when are y’all going to start experimenting onchain, mother fuckers we are doing the biggest experiment onchain,” Hall said. “We are doing otherside! you guys see what we are doing. We have 70 some odd resources, five sediments,100,000 Deeds, all onchain with a whole bunch of other stuff. Are you kidding me?  Are you kidding me? We are experimenting. It just takes longer for us to cook our stuff.”

 

 

As the Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs first announced Otherside back in March 2022, and the project would go on to become one of the biggest NFT mints in history.

 

In the years since, Otherside has gone from an idea to an always on metaverse where community members can hang out as their favorite NFTs whenever they want. And soon, it will become much more than just a place to play.

 

The goal is for Otherside to become a platform where builders can create whatever they want, and that starts with the resource game, which is expected to serve as the backbone of the world’s economy.

Looking ahead, the first iteration of the resource game is slated to go online sometime before the end of the year, beginning with 600 Yuga Labs owned Otherdeeds to explore.

Hall also said today that he and the team plan to host another Space soon to share even more information about everything to come.
