As Bored Ape Yacht Club members anxiously await the Trial of Jimmy the Monkey, one of the club’s co-founders said that there’s” no way in hell anybody knows what we’re doing there.”
During a recent interview at Benzinga’s Future of Crypto Conference, BAYC Co-Founder Garga told the audience that his goal with the Trial of Jimmy the Monkey is to reignite some early BAYC vibes around some “really weird shit.”
“Jimmy the Monkey is some really weird shit that we’ve been building towards for a very long time,” Garga said. “There’s no way in hell anybody knows what we’re doing there. And that’s the point for that. We wanted to get back to some of the silliness, strangeness and fun and novel mechanics that we had earlier in the lifecycle of the BAYC and keep innovating in that space.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the BAYC had the swamp going ape on Thanksgiving after it announced that the Trial of Jimmy the Monkey would start this Christmas.
“Happy Thanksgiving, Apes,” the club tweeted. “The Trial begins this Christmas.”
While we do not know what to expect from the Trial of Jimmy the monkey, we do know that the BAYC has been working on this story for a while. The trial was originally announced in September 2021 as part of the club’s roadmap 2.0.
