Things are heating up around the swamp after crypto’s newest main character burned another Bored Ape over the weekend!

On Sunday, Argonauts enthusiast Ossen.eth purchased Bored Ape #5225, a seven trait gray fur primate wearing a stunt jacket, for 8 ETH, or nearly $22,000 USD, and permanently removed it from the collection by sending it to the burn wallet.

“Burned Ape Yacht Club,” he tweeted.

With this move, Ossen has now burned two Bored Apes in the last two weeks, leaving many on the timeline asking what the primates ever did to him.

“Nothing to me. To the space? Everything,” he explained. “They sold art as a status ticket, let celebrities shill it, printed a coin, burned millions in gas, got richer while holders rode 150 to 6. That's not a collection. That's a playbook. Think it did nothing to you? Keep supporting.”

Whether you agree or disagree with Ossen’s take on Apes, it’s definitely provocative, and it has gotten people across crypto talking about the Bored Ape Yacht Club.

The burn also led to Yuga Labs Co-Founder Garga burning the BAYC’s biggest minter, Pranksy, in a brutal reply ratio that many are calling one of the best tweets of the year.

Ossen himself is well aware of the attention the burns are generating and he’s loving it.

“Best marketing BAYC has had in years, and it costs them nothing,”

Tonight, Ossen shared that he has garnered more than 14 million impressions on X lately and is flirting with the idea of burning even more Apes based on the results of Zed Argo’s poll asking whether people like what he’s doing.

“Pick YES or I burn more,” Ossen said.

The Gazette will continue to follow Ossen and will let you know if and when he burns another Ape. Stay tuned for updates!
