EXTENDED: ApeCoin DAO Contributors Have Until November 19th To Nominate Themselves For $Ape Office

The ApeCoin DAO announced that it has extended the window for ApeCoin DAO contributors to throw their hats in the ring for this winter’s $Ape election season!

As many $Ape holders return home from the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s ApeFest event in Hong Kong, the ApeCoin DAO announced that it will be extending the window for contributors to nominate themselves for the eight $Ape office positions by five days.

“We're extending the nomination deadline,” the DAO tweeted. “Whether you're eyeing a spot on the Special Council or aiming to be a Working Group Steward, you've now got an extra 5 days to step forward. Life's busy, we get it, and we want to make sure everyone who wants to be a part of this has the chance! So mark the new date: Nominations are now open until November 19th at 9PM EST. Don’t miss out on shaping the future of #ApeCoin! If you've been on the fence about nominating yourself or know someone who'd be perfect for the role, now's the time to act. Let's get those nominations in!”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, this winter’s $Ape election season will be the DAO’s busiest yet with three Special Council seats, one Governance Working Group steward spot, two Marketing and Comms positions, and two Metaverse Stewards seats all up for grabs!

In order to run for any of these positions, ApeCoin DAO contributors will need to fill out the Google Doc form for the races they'd like to participate in by November 19th at 9 P.M. EST.

Take a look at the information that ApeCoin DAO Contributors will need to submit in order to run for office:

From there, the DAO will verify the nominees’ applications. Then the DAO approved candidates will move onto the next phase of the election. During this second phase, the community will have the chance to meet the candidates and find out more about them and their backgrounds.

Then from December 7th- December 13th, the community will hold its first round of voting where they will select five candidates from each race to move onto the second round.

From there, the community will vote again from December 14th- December 20th. During this second round of voting, the community will select its preferred candidates for each of the open positions. The winners of this winter’s election season will then officially take office on January 1st, 2024. Check out this winter’s election calendar below:

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow this winter’s elections and will bring you interviews with every candidate. Stay tuned for updates!
