“FREE!”: Yuga Labs Rolls Out A New BAYC Sales Bot, YachtClubSales, And It’s Been Going BRRRR All Day

The Bored Ape Yacht Club’s new sales bot is going brrr, taking over timelines and prompting tons and tons of “free” replies. Apes, we are so back!

On Friday, Yuga Labs launched its first official X sales bot account in years, inviting everyone to give it a follow, turn notifications on, and stay up to date whenever an Ape gets traded.

"Sales bot is now live,” the BAYC tweeted. “Follow @YachtClubSales to stay up to date with trades..”

 

Following its launch this afternoon, the bot’s first recorded purchase was Bored Ape #6010, which was bought by NFT collector GBASSI for 9.15 ETH, or roughly $21,100 USD.

The Gazette reached out to GBASSI for comment on his historic purchase but did not immediately hear back.

While we couldn’t get a comment from GBASSI, the community was loud and clear after the sale, with tons of Apes replying “FREE” in the bot’s comment section, a popular pastime from the early days of the BAYC that’s deeply rooted in the club’s culture.

“OH GOD IT’S BACK,” longtime BAYC member and Ape collector DFarmer tweeted. “Gather around the fire yungin’s. This is where the swamp stories are shared and we yell free at hundred k offers for JPG monkes. Ad free organic 0 km. IDEA: salesbot PFP is whatever highest sale of the month is. Free eyeballs and lil flex bonus for grail hunters. Betcha lots of bragging rights and stories for around the campfire will be born that way.”
