From celebrating one flag to winning another! This Bored Ape Yacht Club member's national and Bored colors are flying after he won the BAYC x King Saladeen Burgee Flag raffle on Canada Day!
Things were anything but boring in the Great White North last week. BAYC member Toronto received an email he could barely believe, he had won the raffle for the only community Burgee Flag from the club’s recent drop.

“I definitely had one of those “wait, this can't be real” moments,” he said. “I had to read it a couple of times. I actually had a brief jump scare because the reply deadline looked like it had already passed. I was out touching grass with my family for Canada Day, so thankfully I didn’t fumble the flag.”
As the Gazette previously reported, the Burgee Flag was designed by Philadelphia based artist King Saladeen as part of his Anchor apparel collection with the BAYC.

“On the water, a burgee isn't decoration. It's an identity,” the BAYC explained. “It tells people who you are. Your club. Your crew. Your colors flying from the stern so everyone knows who's coming through. We wanted this one to carry that same meaning. Not just a logo on fabric, but something you'd actually raise because it stands for something.”

Only two of these Burgee Flags will ever be made, with one set to hang in the rafters of the future BAYC Clubhouse in Miami and the other now headed to Toronto's home.

For Toronto, winning this flag is as surreal and special as joining the BAYC back in May 2021, and he's thrilled to own a piece of the club's history and fly its colors into the future!
“Winning the burgee flag has felt amazing, and a bit surreal,” he said. “ I've gotten so much love from members after I tweeted about it. It's a true grail because it actually feels connected to the Club in a tangible way. This makes it feel less like a raffle win and more like holding a little piece of BAYC history.”
