FROM THE HUMIDOR TO THE FAMILY HEIRLOOMS: BAYC Members Begin Receiving Their BAYC x Scandinavian Tobacco Group Cigar Boxes, Including Dil, Who Calls His An "Heirloom Collectible"

Some of the rarest Bored Ape Yacht Club collectibles don't live on the blockchain, they belong in a humidor and become family heirlooms!

Over the past few days, members have begun receiving the custom cigar boxes created through the Bored Ape Yacht Club's collaboration with Scandinavian Tobacco Group, that celebrate 5 years around the swamp!

One of the first members to receive his collector's box was longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club member Dil, who's been part of the club since the very beginning.

Dil told the Gazette that the handcrafted cigar box has already become one of his favorite BAYC collectibles and he already considers it a family heirloom.

“I originally joined the BAYC in May of 2021 and have to say this might be my favorite limited drop yet… I was particularly excited for this limited piece because it was such a small quantity produced and is what I consider an heirloom collectible. Something I can pass down. The wood grain and quality was fantastic.”

Last month when Dil first received the email telling him he'd won the raffle and the opportunity to purchase one of the 50 collector's cigar sets, he couldn’t believe it.

“I thought it was a scam email when I got selected,” he laughed. “When I confirmed it was real I was so excited. I do love cigars, I occasionally have one but the collectible box was grail piece to me.”

But the grail box and the cigars weren't the only surprises waiting inside this collectible for him.

Along with the custom collector's box and sampler set, Dil said the BAYC added a bunch of  extra goodies in the package from the ApeChain ecosystem and beyond.

“Additionally, a hand signed letter, Apechain Jersey and a Meebit Futbol collectible card pack was included which was a really nice touch,” he said.

 

Tonight, Dil said that he hasn’t smoked any of the cigars yet because he’s saving them for a special occasion, like possibly ApeFest 2026!
