FROM THE SHADOWS TO THE APECHAIN ARENA: Bored Apes Will Be Going Primal In The Grand Games Of The Coliseum Soon!

Things will be anything but boring in the ApeChain Arena as 10,000 primates prepare to emerge from the shadows and ape into battle. Are you not entertained?

On Saturday, Grand Games of the Coliseum creator James Hall announced that Bored Apes will soon be going primal in the arena when he adds them to his onchain game.

 “THE COLISEUM OPENS FOR APES, SOON,” Hetweeted from his Mintotaurs account.

 

After his announcement, Hall told the Gazette that he’s excited to have Apes fighting Apes on ApeChain, all while the NFT never leaves a holder’s vault, thanks to Yuga Labs’ Shadow technology. 

“Ever since I knew of Shadows, I wanted to give the club something to have fun with,” he said. “The great thing about the shadow tech that Quit created is it allows things like this on ApeChain now. So whatever wallet your BAYC shadow is in, it can fight in the arena against Goblins and Mintotaurs.”

At this time, we don’t know when Apes will enter the arena and pit Bored against Strength, or Ape against Gob. But we do know these onchain battles are transformed into AI generated stories inside the Coliseum and that the fights mix strategy, real time player decisions, and a bit of blockchain luck to determine the winner!

For Hall, adding Bored Apes is just a battle, not the war. He said he also plans to bring Mutant Apes into the game, and then open up the files so anyone and everyone can ape in and fight.

“It will be apes to start. Getting the descriptions for mutants are as you would expect, insane,” he said. “As time goes on I’ll release how other collections can add theirs in, it’s a few JSON files and some ape to pay for getting the fighting stats pushed to the contract.”
