From the stage to the vault! Late last night, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and HV-MTL owner Adam Weitsman added an iconic, solid gold furred Bored Ape that was once part of the NFT band Kingship, along with its two matching Mutants, to his collection.

On Saturday, Weitsman’s top tier collection got a new headliner after he purchased Bored Ape #8824 and Mutant Apes #27649 and #27648 from longtime BAYC member and original minter J1mmy for 121.875 ETH, or $289,000 USD, via Yuga Labs’ recently launched over the counter trading desk for high end NFTs, dubbed GrailsOTC.
Shortly after the acquisition, Weitsman took to the timeline and said the move was his way of showing support for Yuga Labs and its new CEO, Michael Figge, who officially stepped into the role about a week and a half ago.
“Wanted to keep supporting the strong @BoredApeYC @mfigge momentum with the purchase tonight of this epic Golden Ape set from OG collector J1mmy,” he said. “Special thanks to @_PPMan_ and @GoldenBronny using the new @GrailsOTC for putting this flawless transaction together.”
Weitsman’s new spacesuit-wearing, gold furred primate may look familiar to many who have been following NFTs.
Back in 2022, the Ape was part of Universal Music Group’s NFT band, Kingship.
