FROM THE SWAMP TO THE FIRST DEED: Yuga Labs And The Other Games Crew Is Celebrating One Year Of The Always On Otherside With A Trip To The First Deed!

One year ago, Yuga Labs flipped the switch and made the Otherside an always on world. And tomorrow, the Other Games crew is celebrating that milestone with its biggest adventure yet!

On July 25, 2025, the Bored Ape Yacht Club hosted its first ever Meet at the Clubhouse Space live inside Otherside Bubbles, where the team announced that the metaverse would officially become persistent, meaning anyone could pop in and explore whenever they wanted.

Turned CEO Michael Figge said. “That means whether its later today or tomorrow, a couple days from now, we are just leaving this exact set up on. So you guys can just come to the swamp and start up your own Bubble.”

 

 

Just two days later, BAYC members GSpot, MoreThanHype, Makaveli, and Honey B announced they would host the very first Other Games around the swamp, inviting the community together for a series of competitions inside the persistent metaverse.

 

“We're doing this to have more fun experiences in the world of building experiences,” Honey B told the Gazette at the time.“To get more people coming back to Otherside and being creative themselves and really to build up the community and culture of ApeChain. Fuck around and have fun. I'm excited to have so many of the communities of ApeChain coming in and giving us even more prizes to add into the prize pool.”

 

That event became the very first Other Games and eventually evolved into one of Otherside's most popular weekly community traditions, bringing hundreds of frens into the metaverse every weekend to hang out, compete for prizes, and build new memories together.

Tomorrow marks the Other Games team's biggest event yet, and it won't be taking place around the swamp or the Koda Homeworld of Nexus. Instead, the Other Games crew is inviting everyone on a journey to the First Deed, a brand new world they've spent months creating alongside Yuga Labs’ Tropical Virtual.

“We started off as a group of 4 building our experiences based on elements, the environment, the people,” OtherGames Hype told the Gazette. “Over several months we have been working directly with Tropical Virtual to create a build for us. A world that we feel would be the essence of Other Games.  Tomorrow we get a chance to bring back these moments once again but with a twist.  A new world.  A new deed.  A new beginning.  With the team in place, those that have  flourished around us, this was the time to step up and show everyone our evolution."
