FROM THE SWAMP TO THE IGLOO: HV-MTL Owner And NFT Collector Adam Weitsman Buys His First Pudgy Penguin!

On Sunday, HV-MTL owner and NFT collector Adam Weitsman officially joined the huddle after adding a Pudgy Penguins NFT to his portfolio.

 

“First @pudgypenguins tonight added to collection,” Weitsman wrote. “Have met ALOT of really good people in that community so thought I should show my support plus @LucaNetz always responds 24/7 if I have any question about the collection which I def respect that for sure ….”

 

 

Weitsman’s new NFT is Pudgy Penguin #4039, an iceskin bird featuring a winking face and a poncho. While the purchase price has not been disclosed, the Penguin is ranked as the 209th rarest in the collection, according to OpenSea data.

After Weitsman’s post, members of the Pudgy Penguins community took to the timeline to welcome the notable collector, including the project’s owner Luca Netz, who tweeted, “Welcome to the huddle.”

With this move, Weitsman’s NFT collection now includes five of the 13 Mega Mutant Apes, four Bored Apes, an additional Mutant Ape, over 230 Meebits, several Mega Kodas and Kodas, 6,474 Otherdeeds, three Bored Ape Kennel Club pups, the Golden Key from Dookey Dash, a CryptoPunk, a Moonbird, and his newly acquired Pudgy Penguin.

Beyond his JPEG portfolio, Weitsman is also the owner of the HV-MTL project, which he and his partner Gabe are currently rebooting, and he is one of the largest ApeCoin holders in the world.

 

As the Gazette previously reported, these moves reflect Weitsman’s desire to be a “beacon of hope” in the space and to help make Web3, and particularly the Otherside, a place that inspires the next generation.

“I’ve got some ideas about kids playing this all over the world,” he told NowMedia’s Matt Medved back in August 2025. “This is a tough world. A place that kids can dream in. They can dream that this is their house and this is their land…I’d love to be able to have an advisor for every 30 Otherdeeds who would teach them how to build. Teach them how to trade. Teach them how to barter.”
