G_Is_Us Is Running For Metaverse Working Group Steward. Find Out Why He Deserves Your Vote:
The camera is rolling on round two of the ApeCoin DAO’s Metaverse Working Group Steward election, and the filmmaker turned Web3 degenerate and Space host, G_Is_Us, is hoping to land this new role and empower $Apes in the metaverse and beyond!
After a month of Twitter Spaces, interviews, and politicking, it’s time for the $Ape community to cast their coins for the two $Apes that they want to represent them as a Steward on the DAO’s newly created Metaverse Working Group.
For those who are unfamiliar with this role, current Special Council Member, Waabam, who created the idea of a Metaverse Working Group earlier this year, has stated that this group will serve as the connection between creators and the DAO.
“When we put it together, we envisioned that this working group would be the connection with the content creators in the DAO,” Waabam said on an ApeCoin DAO space last month. “That could look like supporting people who want to build in Otherside, but it could also look like supporting people in Web3. The other piece of this AIP that we would like to see it create opportunities for partnerships.”
With that in mind, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to each of the DAO’s five Metaverse Working Group Steward candidates and asked them why they’re the right $Ape for the job.

1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your crypto journey and how you got into Web3?
“My journey into the crypto realm began against the backdrop of the demanding motion picture industry, intensified by the challenges posed during the global pandemic in 2020. As a devoted full-time single father of three, the legal battles that ensued, especially in family court due to pandemic exemptions, created unjust disadvantages for both myself and my children. Seeking refuge in the promises of the digital frontier, Web3 became not just a technological solution but a means to reverse these disadvantages and navigate the broken and delayed legal systems.”
2. Why should the community pick you to be its Metaverse working group steward?
“The community should choose me as the Metaverse Working Group Steward because my journey embodies resilience, adaptability, and a deep understanding of the transformative power of the metaverse. I bring a unique perspective shaped by overcoming adversity, coupled with a passion for building and creating in digital landscapes.”
3. Why do you want to do this job?
“I want to do this job because I believe in the metaverse as a sanctuary for personal reinvention and a catalyst for positive change. My personal experiences align with the challenges many face, and I want to leverage this understanding to champion inclusivity, fairness, and community-driven initiatives within the ApeCoin DAO.”
4. Why is the metaverse important for $Ape?
“The metaverse is vital for $Ape as it represents not just a technological evolution but a space for personal narratives to intersect with limitless possibilities. It provides a refuge for those seeking solace and renewal, aligning with the ethos of ApeCoin. Embracing the metaverse enhances $Ape's cultural significance and amplifies its presence in the digital frontier.”
5. If you could only accomplish one thing in this role, what would you like to accomplish?
“If I could accomplish one thing in this role, it would be to foster a sense of unity and collaboration within the ApeCoin DAO community. By creating spaces for shared experiences, supporting creators, and enhancing communication channels, I aim to strengthen the bonds that make our community resilient and vibrant.”
6. How does the metaverse and ApeChain relate? What do you think that should look like?
“The relationship between the metaverse and ApeChain should be symbiotic. ApeChain, as the backbone of our ecosystem, should seamlessly integrate with the metaverse, providing a foundation for secure, decentralized, and interoperable experiences. This integration will ensure the metaverse becomes an extension of ApeChain's values, fostering growth and innovation.”
7. Of the other candidates who do you want to be Metaverse Working Group Steward with and why?
“I would like to collaborate any candidates who share a passion for inclusivity, community building, and fostering positive experiences within the metaverse. Together, we can bring diverse perspectives to the stewardship, ensuring a well-rounded approach that resonates with the entire community.”
